COUNSELLING & PSYCHOLOGICAL SERVICES

Counselling and Psychological Services Centre (CPSC) aims to help and support students resolve personal difficulties and acquire the skills, attitudes and knowledge that will enable them to take full advantage of their experiences at Taylor’s University.

CPSC offers a service which is free, confidential, and available to all enrolled students. Services include individual and group counselling; consultation with parents; assistance with referrals to community resources; and crisis interventions.

We strive to offer services in an atmosphere that is welcoming and comfortable for all students, irrespective of race, ethnicity, age, marital status, sexual orientation, and disability etc.

Our Services

1. Emotional & Psychological Well Being
CPSC focuses on prevention, intervention and collaboration. The primary goal of counselling is to help you develop the personal awareness and skills necessary to overcome problems.

2. Personal Support
Students who come to the centre on an emergency basis receive crisis intervention help from the counsellors. These intervention services may include an initiation of on-going counselling and/or referral to additional university and community resources. CPSC also provides consultation to faculty and other departmental staff when a student’s well-being is of a concern.

3. Student Special Needs Support
CPSC supports students with disabilities and special needs. The staff supports students who have a wide range of physical or mental impairments and medical conditions, as indicated in the student disability policy. They may include any of the following:
  • Learning Difficulties: Students with dyslexia, dyspraxia, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder.
