SPORTS & RECREATION CENTRE

The Sports and Recreation Centre provides a platform for students to lead a healthy and positive lifestyle through various sporting and fitness activities. This centre is also committed to organising a wide variety of recreational activities to support the integration of students from different faculties, and at the same time allow them to have a balanced learning environment.

1. On Campus Facilities
Taylor's University Lakeside Campus is well equipped with sports facilities for students to enjoy a well-rounded and balanced student life on campus. The Sports and Recreation Centre will facilitate the booking and maintenance of various sports courts, equipment and other related sporting facilities.
 
2. Recreation Activities
The Sports and Recreation Centre offers a range of short recreational courses in martial arts, holistic health, sports coaching etc. Social sporting competitions and events on campus, such as fun runs and Campus Race are also offered. In the Student Lounge, the students can chill out with a game of Foosball and Pool, compete in board games, spend time with friends at the Networking Room or catch some educational shows at the TV station. In addition, the centre organises a wide range of outdoor recreation activities including:

4. Coaching and Competitions
The Sports and Recreation Centre provides training for students in various sports activities and encourages them to participate actively in sports competition. Services include:
  • 2-months intensive training prior to any major events, such as MAPCU, MAHSISWA, SIPMA, etc.
  • Experienced coaches to conduct the training during this period
  • Training sessions that would be conducted based on the needs and requirements required
  • Development of new sporting activities and tournaments


Dodgeball Club
Taylor's Lakeside Storm is the official Dodgeball Club at Taylor's University; whose aim is to capture the attention of the students and general public with the rising sport. Although the game is new to Malaysians, it was already widely played in America and made popular through the Dodgeball movie. The Malaysian Association of Dodgeball has made great strides in the local scene and Storm is not far off, having become a major competing force in its founding year. The club instills honor, integrity and fair play into its players while its cheerleaders, bloggers and spokespersons support the club with pride. Ask any of our members; Storm is not just a club, it becomes you.

Netball Club
With top quality coaching and having a fine pool of netballers, Taylor’s Netball Club is the perfect place to improve your netball skills in a family friendly environment. Join the club and you will surely see difference within you. We build true CHARACTERS!!!

Volleyball Club
Taylor’s Volleyball Club mission is to provide a safe environment for all members to learn and develop their skill as a volleyball player. We believe that teamwork is the underlying basis for an athlete to understand and value its importance in the sport of volleyball. Good sportsmanship and camaraderie is practiced, so for all of you out there looking to make new friends, this is the club for you. Let's keep the club active and do anything it takes to be in the team and win tournaments.

Table Tennis Club
Objective of the club is to play the games after classes to keep ourselves healthy and fit as well as to foster friendships among table tennis enthusiast and sports in general. The club also provides platform for its members to represent the University and engage or experience the competitiveness side of the game in healthy Sporting manner.

Tennis Club
The Club offers quality tennis training on court and off court. Provide a platform to learn the game extensively. The club also looking to provide intensive training for members where members will benefit the aspect of physical, technical, tactical, mental training which will provide them with overall development of a student on and off the court.

Board Games Club
The Board Game Club strives to gather like-minded people from across Taylor’s University who shares love for board games. Board games are less known in this region and with the existence of this club, it strives foster a grown interest toward these games. The club serves as an avenue for its members to gather and have a weekly gaming session as they get to explore the deep strategy of chess, the long hours of monopoly, the beauty of words and letter in scrabble, and among other specialized Euro Board Games.

Basketball Club
Basketball club aims to foster athlete growth, education and development of individuals who has vested passion for the basketball sport. For those basketball fanatics out there, join our club to further develop your skills not only as a basketball player but also to run a club and take place as a leader in the future.

Badminton Club
Taylor's University Badminton Club is one of the most popular interests amongst students. The club encourages equal participation and strong value of badminton, such as teamwork and fair play within the members of the club. Join us and fight for your spot to be part of the university badminton team.

Frisbee Club
The Frisbee Club is established in 2011 with the vision to promote and cultivate the sport at Taylor’s University. The sport is a new addition to the Taylor’s Sports Team and will be competing in the inter-university games. Frisbee Club prides itself not merely as a competitive sport but also looks at the aspects of the game that makes it so special, namely building incredible relationship among members on and off the field.

Athletics Club
Athletic Club objective is to develop and train individuals who have the passion for track, cross-country and road running. So, for those who would like to learn and also unleash your talents, join our club and be ready for more fun and exciting trainings and be part of Taylor’s Athletics Team.

Swimming Club
Learn to swim in ten easy lessons. Soon at our very own Taylor's swimming pool. Hurry up to register yourself and master this lifetime joyous activity.

Cricket Club
Taylor’s Cricket Club has one of the best facilities for training in the country with a top quality coach and a fine pool of players ranking from national and international players who are our very own Taylor’s students. Come and join us for trainings and develop yourself in this highly skilled sport.

Squash Club
Taylor's Lakeside Squash club is established recently with the aim to attract the interest of Taylor’s students towards squash. This racquet sport is an individual event played as a team for inter-varsity and open tournaments nationwide. The club has very talented squad members who consist of national juniors & senior players who strive to share their experience to squash enthusiast at Taylor’s. Squash Club extends its warmest welcome to everyone to be part of the challenging and exciting squash family.

Rugby Club
Taylor’s University Rugby Club aims to promote social intercourse and good fellowship among rugby enthusiast. This sport upholds strong team work and fighting spirit to be a winning team. So, for those who are really keen to be part of us, kindly register yourself and fight for your place to be in the university team.

Football & Futsal Club
Taylor's Lakeside Futsal & Football Club is currently the most fan-favorite club at Taylor's University. This club is created for the benefit of our very own Taylorians to discover their hidden talents and even to improve their natural-born skills of this enthusiastic sport. Many friendly competitions will be organized amongst students of Taylor’s University and even open to other Universities, in order to compete and prove in having to become a major competing force among each other. The club encourages fair play and pure talent into its players while its cheerleaders, photographers and organizers support the club with honor and respect.

Cycling Club
Cycling Club is a new addition to the recreational activities at Taylor’s University. The aim of this club is to promote cycling as a form of exercise and commuting among Taylorians in creating a bike friendly campus environment. Join us and support the idea of bicycle as a green vehicle.

Muay Thai Club
Taylor’s Thai Kickboxing Club is established to promote the art of Muay Thai in Taylor’s University. Come explore the world of Muay Thai combat and gain its fitness attributes; strength, endurance, agility and self-confidence. The art involves punches, kicks, head clinch, knees and elbow strikes. Being one of the most practical forms of self-defense, Muay Thai would help in real life situations. You would most definitely have an edge over the person attacking you. Ninjitsu Club
Aspire to be a NINJA!!! This is the club to join. Our Ninjitsu club trains once a week at Taylor’s University Sports Complex and looking forward for more new members to explore this amazing marshal art. Join us and learn self defense in a fun way.

Hockey Club
To provide effective leadership and opportunities for all hockey enthusiasts to fulfill their potential at Taylor’s Hockey Club not just as a leisure participant but also as a competitive hockey player.
