INTENSIVE ENGLISH

About Intensive English
Taylor's Centre for Languages provides Intensive English to ensure that all of our students are able to study effectively in English. The course is divided into two levels:
  • IEN 1
  • IEN 2
Before enrolling for the course, students will sit for the English Entrance Test (EET), so as to place them at a level that is right for their abilities. Each level lasts twelve weeks and the student is assessed through continuous assessment (70%) and via final exams. (30%)

Why Centre for Languages?
Our programme has been designed to be fully compliant with the European Framework, which not only makes transfers to European Institutions and Taylor’s University main programmes easier, but it also reduces the time students need to spend studying full-time, because institutions are able to easily gauge the language level and provide appropriate support.

Our materials are handpicked by experienced teaching staff to provide a richer experience for the students and our classrooms are equipped with state of the art facilities that enhance the learning experience. At Taylor’s Center for Languages:
  • The lessons are taught in a holistic and language rich setting
  • Classroom teaching & learning are personalized to create a meaningful learning experience whilst catering to different language needs
  • Students are supplemented with our very own homegrown Online Speaking Programme (t-Talk); an online speaking course for enrolled students who are looking for additional aid for their language needs
  • The programmes at Center for Languages practices Project-Based Learning which help prepares students to meet the demands of tertiary education and promotes character building
  • Center for Languages holds a high passing rate and high progression rate of students into the main programmes at Taylor’s University
  • Students requiring additional assistance in their learning could enroll for the ‘Buddy System’; a tutoring system where the students will be assigned to a qualified senior student to guide them in their learning
  • Students who have already enrolled at Taylor’s University could opt to stay with the Centre for Languages for their TOEFL or IELTS training.
