TESTIMONIALS

Bachelor of Computer Science (Hons)

"During my final year, I participated in the MDEC IHL Business Plan competition. Throughout the competition, I gained a lot of knowledge and experience that were far beyond what I gained in the classroom, such as brainstorming for ideas and preparing a successful business plan. Besides being able to apply and improve my technical knowledge, I was exposed to the business world and enhanced my presentation and communication skills."

Bachelor of Computer Science (Hons)

"Five of us, the computer scientist aspirants, were identified and shortlisted to embark on a project to develop an Android-based mobile application called Fthat. The app locates and gets directions from friends, keeps up with nearby events and sends messages for free. When we presented Fthat to a panel of judges from Celcom Axiata Berhad, they were amazed at the quality of the application and our presentation skills, which clearly demonstrated the capabilities of Taylor’s graduates."

Bachelor of Computer Science (Hons) (Computer Security and Forensics)

"I’m involved in a computing society called B.Y.T.E.S. (Bringing You Tech Empowered Success). This has exposed me to event planning and working in teams, through which I have developed teamwork and adaptability. These activities not only teach me a lot and build up my CV, but also make me a more well-balanced graduate, which is what employers today look for."

Bachelor of Computer Science (Hons) (Computer Security and Forensics)

"It has been a great experience being a SoCIT student in Taylor’s University. I was given the opportunity to be exposed to real world industries and had the chance to experience solving real world problems. There were a lot of support and motivation from my lecturers and Deans which allowed me to perform better than I expected both academically and non-academically. I also had the chance to practice at competitions and with Technopreneurship Start-ups. Thanks to Taylor's University for giving me this unique learning experience."

"My learning experience at SoCIT has been a positive one. I am grateful to have the chance to attend many school-held collaborative events with industry leaders such as Microsoft and PwC which gave me valuable insights into the fast-paced computing industry that is ever changing. All my lecturers have been incredibly supportive of helping me cultivate ideas and putting my ideas out there to get a taste of entrepreneurship as well as to build networks with people within and out of Taylor’s University. The lecturers certainly do not lack industry experience and are not short with providing me feedback on any obstacles that I might face or any inquiries that I might have."

Bachelor of Information Technology (Hons) (Internet Technologies)

"My first year studying degree in IT at Taylor’s University has been a bumpy ride. Between waves of incoming assignments are studies and exams which truly pushed my boundaries. Taylor’s University provides many facilities, activities and events that taught me how to create my very own balance and to turn stress into an opportunity, maximizing my potential. The library has all the resources one would need and the lecturers here understand that learning is very personalized and are willing to assist where necessary. "Tertiary education is not just empowering ourselves with discipline-specific knowledge but also to enrich ourselves with various kinds of soft skills. Taylor’s University offers the delight of enjoying and learning from both. I was exposed to new opportunities, made new friends and understood myself better. Being a part of Scholars Development Programme and SHINE Programme, I was given a great platform to increase my learning curve and to develop my skills better. My lecturers are very helpful when it comes to my studies. They always encourage to engage with all sorts of industry-related competitions and activities to make sure that I become a well-balanced graduate"

Bachelor of Computer Science (Hons)

"Taylor’s University has provided me with the tools necessary to face the professional life. Notions learnt in class are realistic and related to the requirements of the industry. I was given the opportunity to participate in a Startup Competition by MDEC and I’m honoured to have come in 3rd place. The lecturers were very supportive and were ever willing to provide their assistance and advice throughout my journey.

Taylor’s University currently has its very first technology club which was started by a Final Year student and they host a yearly Hackathon called ImagineHack; a 24-hour non-stop coding event whereby participants will be given a real world problem and will be required to build a technological solution. It is one of the best time of the year where likeminded individuals will come together to create innovative solutions and bring those ideas to life by developing it into mobile applications! "

Bachelor of Software Engineering (Hons)

"Studying in Taylor’s University has been a life-changing experience for me. It is very industry-driven because you get to expose yourself to various opportunities. The turning point in my life is when I helped Microsoft to encourage and teach people to learn coding and promoting computer science at WeSpeakCode. This gave me a global exposure by meeting President Barack Obama and entrepreneurs from Silicon Valley. The lecturers have been very supportive when it comes to participating in competitions. You will get to learn from real life and practical experiences. These opportunities lay all around us, you just have to step out of your comfort zone and seize them."

"I was given the chance to study in Taylor's University on a scholarship and I was blessed with wonderful lecturers that guides me throughout my assignments. The lecturers are very much equipped with the knowledge and dedication to educate students towards their desired career. Countless opportunities were thrown my way such as events and competitions to gear me up with experience to tackle life after university. I really enjoy the current project I’m working on which is to work together with my teammates to find a problem to solve, have an in-depth understanding of the problem and brainstorm ideas to solve it. I am really grateful for this experience and excited to work on future projects to come."
