EduTECH Asia is one of the region’s leading conference and exhibition that focuses on exploring new and innovative uses of technology in education. In preparation for this year’s conference in Singapore, a pre-conference “Meet-Up” event was held at Taylor’s University’s Lakeside Campus. Zoe Hancock, the event Co-ordinator for EduTECH Asia 2017 said, “The session was a great opportunity to chat with meet with a host of education professionals in KL, as well as to take part in some of the roundtable sessions that will drill into some interesting topics of debate” adding that, “we also used the ‘Meet-Up’ as a chance to launch our new application process for speaking at EduTECH Asia. It was great to meet and talk to people willing to take up the challenge of taking the stage to present their story, their challenge or their solutions in front of educators and policymakers from across Asia”. Professor Perry Hobson, the Pro-Vice Chancellor for Global Engagement, said that “Using one of our 39 X-Space classrooms for this ‘Meet-Up’ event allowed us to demonstrate the investment and commitment we have made to changing teaching and learning at Taylor’s University”. Given the strong focus that Taylor’s has on teaching and learning, Prof Hobson was invited with other colleagues from Taylor’s Education Group to speak at the BETT Asia 2016 education technology event in KL. He was then invited to be the Chair of a Panel session at the EduTECH Philippines 2017 conference that was held in Manila, and will be a stream Chair for the EduTECH conference in Singapore. Given the challenging and changing business environment, the theme of the EduTECH 2017 conference is “Preparing today’s students for tomorrow’s workplace”. The conference will be hosted at the SunTec Centre in Singapore.  For more information click here - Global Matters (2017)
