Students at School of Media and Communication have access to our strong industry linkages, where they are placed with some of the most notable local and international establishments in the industry during the internship programme to be exposed to actual projects.
We are internationally well-respected and a highly recognised centre for Media and Communication studies and the School has a strong foothold in two main areas, i.e. research and industry expertise. The Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE) Malaysia has announced the phased opening of higher education institutions nationally, beginning with the 1st phase for the following categories of students: Post-graduate students under research mode, final semester or final year students, and students who experience difficulty in accessing online classes from home.

proPassion Communications is a Public Relations (PR) consultancy managed by the final year degree students which collaborates with local and international clients.

Beijing Film Academy Modern Creative Media College (BFAMCMC) signed a MoA with Taylor’s University SOMAC to facilitate mobility and research collaboration among students and faculty members in Taylor’s filmmaking and digital media production courses. This made Taylor's the only university in Southeast Asia to partner BFAMCMC, whose alumni include Zhang Yimou, Chen Kaige, Liu Yifei and local talent Chiu Keng Guan, who directed blockbusters Ola Bola (2016) and The Journey (2014).
SoMAC has always integrated online learning to ensure that students benefit both face-to-face and virtually.
SOC degree students emerged as Champion in the EcoWorld’s Create Tomorrow and Beyond recruitment video contest 2015. The Champion award comes with a RM5,000 cash prize and an opportunity to work in the industry to reproduce the winning video for commercial use.

Seven degree students performed in an integrated PR and Marketing competition via a social media campaign to promote fuel efficiency and safe driving tips. They also executed on-ground activation at AvenueK Shopping Gallery.
