Hi Freshmen!
Welcome to Taylor’s Lakeside Campus where you rise with the best! We, the Taylor’s Orientation Leaders are a group of seniors ready and geared up to guide you throughout your first E-orientation. Get ready as we have prepared lineups of engagement activities for you in August, and feel free to ask us questions where we’ll navigate you through Taylor’s and give you the best first-year experience!

A student body working collaboratively with Taylor’s Student Development (SD) to assist new students in their transition into University Life. Our goal is to enrich their first-year experiences in Taylor’s by instilling the Taylor’s Culture of excellence into our new students.
It is the university’s focus to support new students in getting adjusted to the new learning environment, hence the program has been designed to be fun, interesting, lively, encouraging and allows bonding with various orientation activities being planned.
Morning Session is the first event for new students to attend their academic briefings. There will be senior sharers sharing their experiences and tips. After the sharing session, students will be briefed by their school’s department directors at different venues.
Campus Hunt allows students to explore the campus facilities and familiarise themselves with the environment. Throughout the event, games will be played at stations near the facilities, at the same time, detailed explanations will be carried on while passing by any location around the campus.
Engagement Day’s activities allows students to engage and interact with seniors from their course and the student representative of the institution, Student Council. The purpose of this is to build a bridge between seniors and students through communication and share their experience in Taylor’s University throughout the break time.
The highlight of each orientation is a themed party organised for the new students. Throughout the event, there will be performances and games together with products sponsored by the partners to be won as prizes.
Clubs and Societies Expo is the first event for the second day of orientation. This expo is an important event that allows the students to gain new experiences and form bonds with not only people from their course but to students from different courses, backgrounds and cultures.
Uni Welcome is an event to aid new students in taking the first step towards transitioning into the University campus life with enriching experiences. This session will help students be familiar with the key services provided on campus, such as Campus Central - the one-stop student center, Library and ICT support, and safety and security.
The Orientation Leaders are the first few people you’ll meet when you first start your campus life. All of the Orientation Leaders are here to ensure that every new student has an awesome orientation experience. So we’ll get an opportunity to lead, love, and serve freshmen. We meet new faces in every new intake and enjoy creating many new, long-lasting bonds and memories!
When I first entered Taylor's 5 years ago, I was so lost and uncertain. Thankfully, for Orientation Leaders, I was able to navigate, grow, and excel in both my academic and social life. Now, being the leader to a bunch of other leaders, I would say Orientation Leaders did not only build who I am today, but also who I will be in the future.
Orientation Leaders is an organization that enriches my university life. If I didn’t choose to enrol myself in 2019, I wouldn’t have met so many interesting people, learnt so many different skills, it would have just been studying, studying and studying. I have explored a lot and discovered the potential inside me.
The decision to join Orientation Leader has been one of the best choice I have made in my life. I have always wanted to become a person with more confidence, outspoken and approachable, much like a leader.
Recruitment for Orientation Leaders occurs annually during Clubs and Societies Carnival on March Orientation Week.
