Sop Students Bag 10 Medals At 12th National Pharmacy Sports Carnival 2019

Athletes from the School of Pharmacy (SOP) bagged 10 medals at the 12th MyPSA National Pharmacy Sport Carnival (NPSC) 2019 held at Cyberjaya University College of Medical Sciences, Cyberjaya in March 2019. The NPSC is an annual event that gathers all pharmacy students across the country in a show of athletic prowess, teamwork, and sportsmanship. The event is jointly organised by the Malaysian Pharmacy Students’ Association (MyPSA), which is a chapter under the Malaysian Pharmaceutical Society (MPS).

Our SOP athletes won 5 gold and 5 bronze medals in this carnival - ranking the institution at 5th place, out of the 18 participating pharmacy schools. Following are details of our champions:
 

Gold medal winners:

  1. Michelle Ting Mei Chun (Track and Field: Women’s 1500 m)
  2. lvy Gan Jhing Ee, Michelle Ting Mei Chun, You Xiao Quen, Joyce Tan Yi Pei, Chen Pik Khee, Ng Sin Yee, Koo Wei Ling, Priscilla Liew May Leng (Basketball Female)
  3. Clement Chieng Jia Yew (Men’s Badminton Single)
  4. Chua Sher Fern, Amanda Keo Wann Yuin, lvy Gan Jhing Ee, Priscilla Liew May Leng (Relay 4 X 50 m freestyle, Female)
  5. Chua Sher Fern, Amanda Keo Wann Yuin, lvy Gan Jhing Ee, Au Yong Yee Leng (Elaine) (Relay 4 X 50 m breaststroke, Female)
     

 Bronze medal winners:

  1. Leong Chee Hong (Track and Field: 400 m Male)
  2. Au Yong Yee Leng (Elaine) (Track and Field: 400 m Female)
  3. Vincent Marshall (Track and Field: Long Jump)
  4. Ong Yi Xian (Men’s Squash Single)
  5. Amanda Keo Wann Yuin (Freestyle 50 m Female)

Taylor’s University was ranked 5th out of the 18 participating pharmacy schools​
