Taylor’s University Ranked 21 in the World

Taylor’s University jumped 8 places to 21st place in the QS World University Ranking by Subject for Hospitality & Leisure Management

Subang Jaya, 1 March 2018 – Taylor’s University jumped 8 places from 29 to 21 in the 2018 QS World University Ranking by Subject for Hospitality & Leisure Management. This achievement also places Taylor’s in the top two universities in Asia.

Professor Michael Driscoll, Vice Chancellor and President of Taylor’s University is elated with the news, “Achieving number 21 in world ranking speaks volume of our distinctive strengths - the outstanding teaching quality, excellent student experience delivered in a world class environment, high level of graduate employability and our unparalleled relationship with the industry. Another global milestone for Taylor’s University.”

The QS World University Rankings by Subject highlights the world’s top-performing universities in each academic area. For this exercise, QS compares the universities on several key performance indicators - academic reputation, employer reputation and research. Taylor’s University scored highly for employer and academic reputation. The excellent work put in by its academic staff, significant investment into research and the breadth of the Faculty’s collaboration with over 500 top hospitality partners has certainly contributed to this achievement.

Dr Neethiahnanthan Ari Ragavan, Executive Dean, Faculty of Hospitality, Food and Leisure Management added that this recognition signals that the Faculty is on the right track to achieve global excellence.

“Last year we made history by becoming the first Malaysian private university to enter the top 50 of the QS World University Ranking by Subject when we made it to top 30 in the world. This year we did even better which signals that we are on the right track.”

“This outstanding global achievement is also partly contributed by our close partnership with University of Toulouse Jean Jaures, the second oldest and largest public university in France that has spanned over 32 years and the work we do together under the flagship of Taylor’s-Toulouse University Centre (TTUC),” he added.

Taylor’s Faculty of Hospitality, Food and Leisure Management is an award winning faculty with over 60 awards under its belt. Its facilities mirror world-class facilities, designed and built to stimulate the actual working environment of leading hospitality, tourism and culinary establishments.
