The Master of Counselling programme is designed for those who are passionate to provide mental health care to healthier individual with fewer pathological issues. It aims to produce professional and skilled counsellors who upon graduation will be eligible to apply for the registration and license in counselling in Malaysia under Malaysia's Board of Counsellors (Lembaga Kaunselor Malaysia).
The programme is an essential progression pathway for individuals who are passionate about involving themselves in the arena of mental health. The programme is designed to produce Registered and Licensed Counsellors of high ethical standards and competent skills who will be globally competitive both in practice and research.

Students are able to culminate field experience to engage in counselling activities in various settings under industry leading expert's supervision.
Well set-up facilities and access to various psychological assessment tools for internal clinical practicum.
Graduates can work as a Scientist (researcher or academician) or Practitioner (Registered and Licensed Counsellor) through the teaching from experienced academic and industrial experts.
Students conduct research in an in-house research lab equipped with cutting-edge technology (e.g. emotional micro-tracking, eye tracking machine and 360-degree video recording).
The programme structure is designed to comply to the standards and guidelines as set by Malaysia's Board of Counsellors (Lembaga Kaunselor Malaysia, LKM). It focuses on preparing its graduates to be professional qualified and competent counsellors with expertise in client assessment and management, career counselling, psychotherapy and intervention, counselling research and management of life issues and therapy centres.
Bachelor’s degree from a recognised university with a minimum CGPA of 2.50 or equivalent preferably but not necessarily with relevant industry experience.
Those with CGPA between 2.00 to 2.49 but with a minimum of 5 years’ relevant working experience are also admissible.
For international students: IELTS 5.0 / TOEFL 500 paper based or 213 for computer-based (May join IEN preparatory course and achieve the IELTS score) The validity of the IELTS or equivalent is within 2 years from the date of the examination.
For Malaysian students (if their undergraduate or postgraduate degree qualifications [whichever more recent] were done outside of Malaysia, and were not undertaken in the English language): IELTS 5.0 / TOEFL 500 paper based or 213 for computer-based (May join IEN preparatory course and achieve the IELTS score) The validity of the IELTS or equivalent is within 2 years from the date of the examination.
All candidates who fulfill the above requirements must pass Candidate Selection Interview to ensure comprehension of English language and the basic psychological wellbeing suitability of the candidate for the role as a Counsellor.
