OVERVIEW



The Bachelor of Biotechnology programme is designed to provide you with a comprehensive education and training in biotechnology, with a specific focus on three core areas: agriculture, medical, and industrial biotechnology disciplines.

 

Throughout the programme, you will have the opportunity to engage in hands-on practical sessions, allowing you to apply your theoretical knowledge in real-world settings. These practical experiences will help you develop essential laboratory skills and techniques that are crucial in the field of biotechnology.

 

Our progressive curriculum is designed to equip you with the scientific principles and knowledge necessary for success in the biotechnology industry. You will delve into fascinating topics such as molecular cloning, genome editing, cell tissue culture techniques, bioinformatics analysis, bioprocessing technologies, and research and development techniques and instrumentations.

As a student in our programme, you will have the opportunity to explore a wide range of essential components in the field of biotechnology. We will expose you to scientific principles and knowledge that serve as the foundation of this discipline. In addition, you will be introduced to bioinformatics technologies, which play a critical role in analyzing and interpreting biological data. Flexible Education

Flexible Education

The Flexible Education component offers students the flexibility to explore modules in a related or unrelated field, enhancing and complementing their primary major. This component allows students to broaden their knowledge and skills by selecting modules from the same or different schools within the university.

 

Flexible Education can take various forms, including free electives, extensions, minors, or even a second major. These options provide students with the opportunity to delve deeper into a specific area of interest or broaden their understanding by exploring a different field of study.

SPM / O-Level with Pre-U / Foundation

Pass SPM/O-level or equivalent with 5 credits in Mathematics and one science subject for entry with pre-university /foundation qualification. (Except for UEC)

SPM / O-Level with Diploma

Pass SPM with three (3) credits in Mathematics, one science subject and one any other subject for entry with Diploma qualification.
