OVERVIEW

 

Our Bachelor of Software Engineering programme is specifically designed to prepare students who aspire to pursue a future in the software engineering industry. We provide in-depth knowledge, skills, and technical know-how to design complex engineering systems by combining the study of Computer Science and Engineering.

 

Throughout this programme, you will gain a comprehensive understanding of software engineering principles and practices. You will explore topics such as software development methodologies, programming languages, algorithms, database systems, software testing, and project management.

 

One of the unique aspects of this programme is the dual award degree. Upon successful completion, graduates receive two certificates and academic transcripts.

Prerequisites

Prerequisites

Pass SPM//O-level or equivalent with 5 credits (including *Additional Mathematics) for entry with preuniversity/ foundation qualification (Except for UEC).

 

Mathematics and any one of the Science, Technology or Engineering subjects at SPM level or its equivalent. Candidates need to take and pass the reinforcement Mathematics equivalent to Additional Mathematics at the SPM level. The subject must be offered in first semester or before enrolment with unconditional offer.

Pass SPM/O-level or equivalent with 3 credits for entry with Diploma / pre-university qualification.

 

Any Diploma in Science and Technology (Level 4, MQF) with a minimum CGPA of 2.75. Candidates with a CGPA below 2.75 but more than 2.50 can be admitted subject to a thorough rigorous assessment;

Note:

  • Candidates without a credit in additional mathematics at SPM level or its equivalent may be admitted if the Foundation programme contains subjects in mathematics that are equivalent to additional mathematics at SPM level.
  • As for Bachelor of Software Engineering (Honours) and Bachelor of Computer Science (Honours), students without a credit in Additional Mathematics at SPM level OR without STPM, A-Level, Foundation) but have obtained a credit in Mathematics and a credit in one of the subjects in Science / Technology / Engineering at SPM level is required to sit and pass a Bridging Module conducted by the School of Computer Science and Engineering at the beginning of their studies to graduate from the programme.
