Ruemz (pronounced 'rooms') is a trendy new block located on-campus that offers comfortable independent living spaces, enhanced privacy and additional security features. The low-density block houses over 132 beds in tastefully-furnished single and twin-sharing rooms spread across 7 floors. Each room has an attached bathroom and is equipped with TV, safety box and mini fridge.​

Conveniently located below Ruemz is Syopz, a retail mall that offers a good variety of food and beverage outlets, banking facilities, a clinic, a stationary shop, a tech store and a bookstore. Parking is also available beneath the building. Taylor's University provides daily shuttle bus services that transport students to Sunway Pyramid Shopping Mall, the LRT train station and KTM train station.

U Residence is the flagship on-campus hostel operated by Taylor's Hostel Management. This 6-storey building houses 888 beds spread across 128 apartments and 114 standalone en-suite units, all tastefully-furnished with beds, mattresses, wardrobes, study tables and chairs.​

Each apartment unit can comfortably accommodate up to 6 residents in single & twin-sharing rooms, with a shared pantry/dining area (with refrigerator, microwave, individual storage spaces) and shared washroom. Each en-suite unit has an attached bathroom but does not come with a pantry or dining area.​

Situated beneath U Residence, Syopz is a retail mall featuring a diverse range of amenities, including food and beverage outlets, banking facilities, a clinic, a stationery shop, a technology store, and a bookstore. Parking is available under the building. Additionally, Taylor's offers daily shuttle bus services that transport students to Sunway Pyramid Shopping Mall, the LRT train station, and the KTM train station.

Taylor’s Hostel initiated the LaunchPad project in 2019 with the aim to end menstruation poverty among female refugees living in Malaysia. LaunchPad is the first project in Malaysia to tackle period poverty among refugees through reusable sanitary pads & menstrual hygiene education. Presently, some 170,000 refugees and asylum seekers reside in Malaysia of which 32% are women (60,000 women refugees).

What should I do to confirm my booking?

To begin, simply submit an enquiry to receive your application form. Once we’ve reviewed your request, Taylor’s Hostel Management will get in touch to confirm room availability. Please note that submitting an application does not guarantee the exact room type or location, as all bookings are subject to availability. If you’re offered a room and decide to accept it, a RM500 non-refundable application fee and a RM3,000 deposit will be required to secure your spot. We encourage early confirmation to increase the chances of getting your preferred option.

To ensure a smooth check-in process, the full balance should be paid at least 21 days before your check-in date.

Rental is paid every six (6) months and is due before the 1st day of the next 6-month cycle. This helps us keep your tenancy running without interruption.

We understand that plans can change. If you need to cancel, please submit a letter of cancellation along with any relevant documents at least one (1) month before your programme starts. This will allow Taylor’s Hostel Management to review and process your request accordingly.

All new residents are required to sign a one-year (12-month) tenancy agreement initially. After completing this period, you may renew your tenancy for a minimum of 6 months, subject to availability and management approval. If you have a valid reason and the proper documentation, shorter rental durations may be considered—we’re here to support your unique needs where possible.

Early check-out is strongly discouraged. Please note that doing so will result in the forfeiture of your deposit and any prepaid rent. We recommend discussing your situation with us if you're facing difficulties and we're happy to help explore your options.

Yes, the RM3,000 (USD750) deposit is refundable if:

  • You cancel your booking with at least one (1) month’s written notice before your programme begins, or
  • You complete your initial one-year tenancy and any subsequent renewal period (if applicable).

After you check out, we’ll conduct a final inspection of your room/unit. If there are no damages, your deposit will be processed and returned within 21 working days. We aim to make this process as efficient as possible.

Your safety is our priority. All hostel locations are within gated communities and monitored by 24-hour security services with CCTV surveillance, so you can rest easy.

Yes! You’ll find a variety of restaurants, cafés, and fast food outlets in Syopz Mall and around campus. Online food delivery services are also widely available—convenience at your doorstep.

Yes. A coin-operated laundromat is available at Syopz Mall (LG2-11).

  • For U Residence, basic housekeeping is provided in shared areas such as the dining area, kitchen, and washrooms.
  • For Ruemz, housekeeping covers common areas, rooms, and bathrooms.

Yes, but with some guidelines for safety and cleanliness:

  • Residents of U Residence and Ruemz may use the Common Kitchen at U Residence (1st Floor).
  • Cooking is allowed only in U Residence apartments equipped with a kitchenette.
  • All rooms come with a microwave for reheating.

Please note: Cooking is strictly prohibited inside rooms.

Yes. All residents can access the campus WiFi network, which is optimised for educational use.

We understand how important this is. You may indicate your roommate preferences in the application form or via email. While we cannot guarantee placements, we’ll do our best to accommodate your request based on availability and on a first-come, first-served basis.

To ensure a safe and respectful living environment, all residents are expected to follow the House Rules. These include showing respect for different cultures, religions, and lifestyles. Activities such as smoking, gambling, vandalism, or possession of illegal substances are strictly prohibited and may result in penalties or eviction. A full guide will be provided in your Student Handbook during check-in.

To promote a healthier living environment, we introduced prepaid air conditioning after observing that many rooms were left with air conditioners running even when unoccupied. This led to damp conditions and mold growth. By using air conditioning more mindfully, we can protect your health and preserve the living environment for everyone.

Yes! Each resident receives 180 complimentary hours of air conditioning. If you use more than this, you can easily top up to continue enjoying the service. We encourage you to also use ceiling fans to stay comfortable while conserving energy.

Refunds are available for unused top-up hours only. Complimentary hours are non-refundable and cannot be exchanged for cash.

Top-ups are available in RM10, RM20, and RM50. As a guide, RM10 gives you approximately 25 hours of air conditioning usage.

You can top up at the Prepaid Kiosk near U Lounge (next to the PopBox). Just bring your Resident ID card and exact change for the top-up amount.
