In line with the directive from Malaysia’s Ministry of Higher Education (MoHE), all private universities including Taylor’s have adopted the Mata Pelajaran Pengajian Umum (MPU), or General Studies Modules, to replace the previous Mata Pelajaran Wajib (MPW) starting 1 September 2013.

These compulsory modules are a graduation requirement for all diploma and bachelor’s degree students. For students in foundation programmes (including the American Degree Transfer Programme), MPU is also offered to those who choose to further their studies abroad without continuing into a degree at Taylor’s.

At Taylor’s University, we’ve designed our MPU to go beyond the basics. By integrating our university core modules into the MPU, we ensure that our students receive a well-rounded and future-ready education that:

Encourage students to question, analyse, and reflect with intellectual rigour.

Instil ethical values and a sense of duty to society.

Empower students to engage with the world through diverse forms of communication and creativity.

  • Develop students’ inner capacity to lead, innovate, and create meaningful impact.
