Things You Should Know Before Applying

Let’s face it — life happens. But if you've suddenly found yourself withdrawn or terminated from Taylor’s, here are some common reasons why that might have happened:

Outstanding tuition fees or payments

Your account had unpaid balances that weren’t settled by the deadline.

Non-attendance without notice

You stopped showing up for classes without officially informing the university.

Incomplete entry requirements

You didn’t submit the required documents (e.g. certificates, transcripts) to meet your programme’s entry conditions.

Unsatisfactory academic progress

You were excluded after failing a core module three (3) times or did not clear Academic Probation 2, especially if you were close to graduating. For TU-UWE Dual Award student - you failed a core module within the maximum number of attempts.

We understand that every student’s situation is different, which is why you may still have the option to return — through reinstatement.

Yes, reinstatement is possible — but only if you meet all of the following criteria:

You’re applying within twelve (12) months from your last day at Taylor’s (due to withdrawal or non-attendance)

You’re returning to the same programme and same intake you were previously enrolled in

The programme structure hasn't changed since your departure

Notes:

  • If you withdrew before your intake officially began, reinstatement is only possible for that specific intake, and you must apply before the intake closes.
  • For TU-UWE Dual Award students: You may still be eligible if you can provide valid documentation of extenuating circumstances that contributed to your academic exclusion.

Time is of the essence. Make sure you apply within the specified window:

  • For all types of exclusion (including TU-UWE Dual Award): Submit your application within five (5) working days from the date of the exclusion letter.
  • For past withdrawals and non-attendance: Submit your reinstatement appeal within twelve (12) months from your withdrawal / exclusion date.

Here’s what you need to do:

1

Download and complete the Appeal for Reinstatement Form

2

Prepare your documents, including:

  • A formal explanation letter detailing why you left and why you’re seeking reinstatement.
  • Any supporting evidence (e.g. medical certificates, personal statements).
  • Proof of payment (if your exclusion was due to unpaid fees).

3

Submit your application
Email everything to Campus Central at campuscentral@taylors.edu.my

We aim to process reinstatement requests within seven (7) working days, but depending on your case, it may take up to fourteen (14) working days. Once a decision is made, Campus Central will send you the outcome letter to both your Taylor's and personal email.

If your appeal is successful:

  • You’ll receive an official reinstatement offer letter.
  • You’ll be asked to:
    • Register for your modules if OMR Tier 1 (Online Module Registration) is still open.
    • If OMR Tier 1 is closed, submit the Module Add/Drop Form and email it to Campus Central right away.

Reinstatement is not automatic and depends on a few key factors:

  • Programme availability
Some programmes have limited seats, while others may no longer be offered.

  • Your academic standing
Your results at the time of withdrawal will be reviewed to assess suitability for reinstatement.

  • Time lapse since last enrolment
If it’s been too long, you might be asked to reapply instead of being reinstated.

Additional Conditions May Include:
  • Retaking previously failed modules
  • Restarting the programme if the curriculum has changed significantly
  • Switching to a new programme if your old one has been phased out
  • Submitting a new application through Admissions if your gap exceeds the one-year maximum

If you have any questions, reach out to Campus Central via the Enquiry Form and we’ll get back to you within one (1) working day.
