Taylor's University recently had the honour of hosting a delegation from the Royal Embassy of Saudi Arabia, led by Dr. Fahad Mohammed N. Alshemmeri, the Cultural Attaché. This visit marks a significant milestone in fostering international academic collaborations and enhancing student progression opportunities.

A Testament to Global Partnerships

The event commenced with the arrival of Dr. Fahad and his delegates, setting the stage for an afternoon dedicated to strengthening the bonds between Taylor's University and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The Vice Chancellor and President of Taylor's University, Professor Barry Winn, extended a warm welcome to the guests with a presentation of the university profile, showcasing the institution's achievements, academic excellence, and contributions to global education.

Following the introduction, a meeting was held with academic leaders from Taylor's University to explore avenues for research partnerships and collaborative projects. Among the attendees were Professor Dr Neethiahnanthan, Executive Dean from the Faculty of Social Science and Leisure Management, Associate Professor Dr Anthony, Pro-Vice Chancellor of Research and Enterprise, and Professor Dr Eddy Chong, Executive Dean from the Faculty of Business and Law, all of whom engaged in fruitful discussions with Dr Fahad.

The visit also included a ceremonial gift presentation and a group photo session, symbolising the mutual respect and the strengthening relationship between the two parties. This was followed by a pivotal meeting with the International Office (IO) & Student Welfare (SW) team, focusing on student progression. Currently, Taylor's University is home to 38 Saudi Arabian students sponsored to pursue various programmes, including Bachelor of International Hospitality Management (Hons), Bachelor of International Tourism Management (Hons), Bachelor of International Events Management (Hons), Master of International Hospitality Management, and PhD in Hospitality and Tourism. This meeting underscored the commitment of both parties to support and enhance the educational journey of these students.

The visit culminated in a campus tour led for Dr Fahad and his delegates, showcasing Taylor's University's state-of-the-art facilities. This tour not only highlighted the university's commitment to providing an exceptional learning environment but also opened up discussions on potential future collaborations.

 

The visit from the Royal Embassy of Saudi Arabia to Taylor's University is a testament to the university's growing international reputation and its dedication to fostering global partnerships. It sets a promising path towards enhanced research collaborations and provides a robust support system for Saudi Arabian students, ensuring their academic and professional success.
