OVERVIEW

 

Our Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Sustainable Digital Construction Management programme has been specifically developed to meet the growing demand for skilled construction managers in Malaysia and globally. The programme addresses sustainability challenges in the construction industry, with an emphasis on Smart and Green Construction practices. Our comprehensive curriculum leverages a Work Based Learning track that offers students with 1 year of industry placement equipping students with the knowledge and skills needed to excel in this evolving industry.

 

This programme aligns with the government's strategic plan, Construction 4.0, which focuses on technology and digital-enabled construction. Specifically, our curriculum supports the goal of adopting Building Information Modeling (BIM) in 80% of construction projects by 2025. By incorporating BIM principles and practices into our programme, we ensure that you are well-prepared to meet industry demands and contribute to the digital transformation of the construction sector.

The Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Sustainable Digital Construction Management is multidisciplinary, collaborative and technology-driven and provides better opportunities for students' successful careers in the ASEAN Economic Community industry. The programme is uniquely dedicated to developing construction project managers’ knowledge and expertise in sustainable construction by drawing upon subject expertise within the School of Architecture, Building and Design and other schools in Taylor’s University.  The programme focuses on challenges that the built environment faces today and the impact and importance of creating a resilient built environment and digitised construction project management.

 

It addresses critical global challenges by integrating contemporary construction management theory and practice with fundamental and interrelated sustainable design and construction theory and practice. The programme will expose students to multidisciplinary teamwork, focused on the integration of green and smart design, and construction processes across a building life cycle through collaborative practices emphasising the practical application of sustainability within the programme. 

 

This degree programme is compatible with the Taylor's Curriculum Framework that allows students to mix & match study modules.

Flexible Education

Flexible Education

The Flexible Education component offers students the flexibility to explore modules in a related or unrelated field, enhancing and complementing their primary major. This component allows students to broaden their knowledge and skills by selecting modules from the same or different schools within the university.

 

Flexible Education can take various forms, including free electives, extensions, minors, or even a second major. These options provide students with the opportunity to delve deeper into a specific area of interest or broaden their understanding by exploring a different field of study.

- Diploma in Computing (Level 4, MQF) or equivalent with a minimum CGPA of 2.50.

- Candidates with a CGPA below 2.50 but more than 2.00 may be admitted subject to a thorough rigorous assessment; (Pre-requisite of Credit in Mathematics at SPM level or equivalent is not required)

- Any other Diploma (Level 4, MQF) with a minimum CGPA of 2.75. 

- Pass High School Certificate from New South Wales, Australia with an average of 60%

- Pass ANY Foundation with min CGPA 2.0 from other institutions recognised by the Malaysian Government

- Pass Matriculation programmes recognised by Ministry of Education Malaysia in relevant field with min CGPA 2.00

- Diploma Kemahiran Malaysia (DKM) / Diploma Vokasional Malaysia (DVM) / Diploma Lanjutan Kemahiran Malaysia (DLKM) in Computing fields with a minimum CGPA of 2.50 subjected to HEP Senate / Academic

Board’s approval;

- Any other qualifications are recognised as  equivalent by the Malaysia Government.
