This degree programme offered by Taylor's Design School exposes students to a variety of media in the first year to provide breadth in creative media design knowledge, while the subsequent two years of specialisation endeavours to provide depth in their specific area of discipline.

PROGRAMME STRUCTURE

Students will study the fundamental processes of design theory and practice through problem- and studio-based learning. In experiencing the design thinking process, students will be able to analyse, evaluate, and put forward design solutions that are innovative and creative. The modules prescribed will provide the student with the necessary skills sets to conceptualise and create aesthetically sound outputs that are creative, functional, entertaining, engaging and communicable.

This degree programme is compatible with the new Taylor's Curriculum Framework that allows students to mix & match study modules.

PRIMARY MAJOR

This component consists of Common Core subjects, which are common modules across a discipline that provides the fundamental knowledge of the discipline.

Specialisation

UI / UX

User interface (UI) design and user experience (UX) design are the yin and yang of application designs for mobile, web, kiosks, software interface or Virtual, Augmented and Mixed Reality experiences.

GRAPHIC DESIGN

Graphic Design is the practice of conceptualising and visualising ideas and experiences with illustration, photography, digital imagery and media.

DIGITAL ANIMATION

The Digital Animation specialisation enables students to develop professional digital animation skills in various digital media design platforms and using state-of-the-art digital animation tools.

ENTERTAINMENT DESIGN

The Entertainment Design specialisation focuses on the productions of movies, games and animations along with the spinoff or ancillary licensing and merchandising industry.

UNIVERSITY CORE

This component aims to develop critical thinking, build up social intelligence and cultivate civic responsibility as well as broaden cultural knowledge. These consist of compulsory and nationally-mandated study modules required by the Malaysian Ministry of Higher Education.
