Taylor’s University Film Festival 2022 (TUFF) was held at MBO Cinemas, Atria Shopping Gallery on the 25th February 2022. A total of 76 films submissions were received from university students from over 20+ countries around the world. TUFF was launched with the aim of exposing emerging talents to the broader film community.
SOMAC was the recipient of an award as the sole Malaysian university winner for ‘Best Student Public Relations Campaign’ at the Public Relations & Communications Association Asia Pacific (PRCA APAC) Awards 2022, held on the 20th March 2022 at the Intercontinental Hotel, Singapore.

Beijing Film Academy Modern Creative Media College (BFAMCMC) signed a MoA with Taylor’s University SOMAC to facilitate mobility and research collaboration among students and faculty members in Taylor’s filmmaking and digital media production courses. This made Taylor's the only university in Southeast Asia to partner BFAMCMC, whose alumni include Zhang Yimou, Chen Kaige, Liu Yifei and local talent Chiu Keng Guan, who directed blockbusters Ola Bola (2016) and The Journey (2014).

This project room is equipped with 16 workstations for students to work on their assignments.
