Prof. Zabrina Fernandez
Executive Producer, Wildsnapper TV Sdn Bhd

Zabrina Fernandez is the co-founder of Wildsnapper TV Sdn Bhd, which opened its doors in 2013. Her love for storytelling in film and television began when she was 5, tagging along her TV Pendidikan Producer/Director mother to her shoots. Her father who was a radio commentator for RTM was also a huge influence in the way she tells stories and sees the world.

Always one to evolve with the trends of the market, she has a nose for where the path is headed in the industry and is brave to pursue it. This experience took her to filming in over 32 countries around the world over 5 years and even working extensively with the Australian reality tv industry.

By the time Zabrina co-founded Wildsnapper TV in 2013, she had over 14 years of experience in radio, print, television news, local and international entertainment TV.

In 2018, Zabrina co-wrote, produce and directed the very first Malaysian-Iranian co-production feature length film titled Lahzeye Bi Payan| In An Endless Instant which starred multiple award winning star, Nur Fazura.

Zabrina has shied away from awards except for one. She is an International Emmy Winner 2012 under the Non Scripted Entertainment category for her role as Producer in The Amazing Race Australia.

Prof. Lina Tan
Executive Producer, Red Communications

Lina founded Red Communications Sdn Bhd in 1999 after 8 years in advertising and television. Lina believes that content matters and in this she has created a variety of television programs and commercials focusing on women issues, youth and kids. Among them is a ground-breaking social awareness program designed to empower young women called 3R (Respect, Relax and Respond) which has won numerous awards and ran on Malaysian television for 10 years. More than just a Television show, it also ran workshops, events and online videos on issues that mattered to young women. The show has also been sold in Singapore and produced as a format in Philippines and Vietnam.

She was also responsible for creating Oh My English for Astro which is a kid’s educational TV series. The successful show has been running for five years and spawned annual English language workshops in rural schools as well as magazines and interactive online games.

In 2004, Lina set up RED Films, which proved instrumental in supporting the new wave of Malaysian filmmakers like Ho Yuhang, James Lee, Amir Muhammad and Woo Ming Jin whose films proceeded to screen at international film festivals and win awards. Lina then started producing RED Films original feature length films with a commercial aim. Visits: Hungry Ghost Anthology one of the earlier Red Films work was the first and most successful Digital film in terms of box-office to be screened in Malaysia’s digital cinemas.

This was followed by a mainstream Malay language film Gol & Gincu in 2005. It was a critical success where the film was screened in Singapore, Indonesia, Brunei and International Film Festivals in Bangkok, Tokyo, Amsterdam and Busan, Korea. Subsequently Gol & Gincu was made into a TV series on 8TV where it was one of the highest rated programme on the channel, spinning off a version in Philippines.

Since then Lina has produced a total of 12 films which are critically acclaimed and box office hits. Some of the films include Kami, Pisau Cukur, Songlap, Istanbul Aku Datang, Kami Histeria, Huat Ah!, Manisnya Cinta, Rembat and Gol & Gincu Vol. 2. She was also the producer of Mrs. K an international film starring Simon Yam, Wubai and Kara Wai which opened in Malaysia, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Singapore and China.

Lina has kick started the careers of many film directors, writers and producers in the Malaysian Industry who are now industry leaders. Amongst them are Bernard Chauly, Effendee Mazlan and Fariza Ishak, Shamyl Othman, Rafidah Abdullah, Low Ngai Yuen, Nadiah Khan, Umie Omar and many more.

Lina always believes people are the cornerstone of her companies and she continues to nurture new creative talent to make awesome content. 

ADVERTISING AND BRAND MANAGEMENT

Prof. Harmandar Singh
Managing Director, Sledgehammer Communications

Mr. Harmandar Singh, or better known as Ham, has been in marketing and brand communications for over 30 years. Has created more than 400 commercials and won over 50 local and international awards. Was Creative Director for 15 years at McCann-Erickson KL, Manila, NY, London. He used to be a weekly columnist for The Star for more than 11 years, as a highly respected commentator on marketing and brand communications under his pen-name SLEDGEHAMMER to over one million readers.

In 2011, he was appointed as the president of the International Advertising Association (IAA) Malaysia and he stays on the Exco as Honorary Advisor. Mr. Harmander is a firm believer in the power of print and published “Marketing” magazine once in two weeks, which is a step contrary to the trend of “print is dead”. When Sledgehammer Communication celebrated its 20th anniversary last year, the magazine innovated with a special, personalised edition cover, featuring the reader on each cover for 3,000 copies.

Apart from this, Mr. Harmander is actively involved in community service. He serves as a committee member at Mercy Malaysia and had travelled to places like Lebanon and Kathmandu to help the Syrian refugees and earthquake victims.

Prof. Said Bani C M Din

Mr Mohd Said Bani or fondly known as Prof. Bani, is the founder, owner and Managing Director of bzBee Consult Sdn Bhd, an integrated marketing and communications company specialising in strategic communications and media, issues and crisis communications, government relations and stakeholders management, events management, marketing and branding.

Born in Penang, he studied law in Sheffield University, United Kingdom. Worked in Brian Thompson & Partner Solicitors from 1989, as a young trainee and till 1994 when he became the solicitor. Upon coming back to Malaysia, he worked in numerous organisations such as Melewar Group of Companies, Telekom Malaysia, 3Circles Media and Fox Communications, before setting up bzBee Consult.

Prof Bani has lead bzBee Consult  to a rating of 4-star high performing bumiputera company by SME Corp, won several accolades and recognitions such as CSR Awards 2018 Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC), Environmental Award 2018, Crisis/ Issues Management Award 2018 and SME & Entrepreneurship Business Award Premier Edition 2017/2018. He is a council member of Public Relations Consultants Association (PRCA), FINAS (Perbadanan Kemajuan Filem Nasional Malaysia), High Performing Bumiputera Company under Peneraju Agenda Bumiputera unit, Prime Minister’s Department and Malaysian – Indonesian Corporate House, Bandung, Indonesia.

Ravindran Raman Kutty

Ravindran Raman Kutty, MA Communications, UK, is an accredited PR Practitioner and a Fellow of the Institute of Public Relations Malaysia (IPRM). A recipient of the ASEAN Public Relations Network (APRN) Accredited Fellowship Award, he is currently the General Manager for Strategic Communications for MRCBGK. He also serves as the Treasurer for the IPRM.

He has more than 30 years of experience in Corporate Communications.  In 2015 he was awarded the Certificate of Acceptance into the "Industry Specialist of Malaysia" Direktori Pakar Industri Negara (DPIN) by the Ministry of Human Resources.  In 2004 he was awarded the IPRM’s Best PR Practitioner for the category of utilities services.  He was the force behind in achieving the ACCA and Crystal Award 2004 for Alam Flora.

A sought after speaker in CSR & Corporate Communications both locally and internationally,  he is currently the International Relations Chairman for Institute of Public Relations Malaysia and he is a Columnist with Bernama and Sin Chew Jit Poh, and an Advisor to the World Youth Foundation.
