The Bachelor Degree in Medicine, Bachelor Degree in  Surgery (MBBS) programme focuses on preparing students with extensive knowledge in medical sciences and clinical skills, to produce qualified and competent medical professionals who are equipped for the latest practices and developments in the industry. Our MBBS curriculum places a strong emphasis on clinical training in medicine and surgery.

PREREQUISITES

(Applicable to Government Matriculation, Pre-U in Health/Pure/Applied Sciences and Foundation in Science):

A pass in SPM / O-Level or equivalent with 5Bs each in Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics / Additional Mathematics and another subject at school level or its equivalent.

HEALTH REQUIREMENTS

Prior to admission, students are required to undergo a medical examination to ensure they are in good health and free of transmissible diseases. They also need to comply with the immunisation and infection risk policy.

PROGRAMME STRUCTURE

The programme is structured into two phases:

  • Phase 1 (Year 1 & 2) focuses on the fundamental knowledge of medical sciences with exposure to clinical medicine. Students will be taught history taking and physical examination techniques using both simulated patients and models, where they will learn to identify patients' problems and propose investigation plans for the patients.
  • Phase 2 (Years 3 - 5) involves clinical rotations at designated hospitals from the Ministry of Health, where students will gain hands-on experience with patients. During this phase, students are rotated in all clinical disciplines required for undergraduate training including Internal Medicine, Surgery and Intensive Care among many others.
