Our Master of Applied Computing programme is designed to cultivate a culture of empowerment and foster innovation among our students. The MAC programme offers two exciting specialisations: Artificial Intelligence and Data Science. By specialising in Artificial Intelligence, you will explore the complexities of machine learning, deep learning, and natural language processing. In the Data Science specialisation, you will delve into the world of big data analytics, statistical modelling, and data visualisation.

Note

  • Kindly note that the Master of Applied Computing programme is approved by MoHE as 41 Graduating Credits. However, students can do a double specialisation with 49 Credits as additional credits. The Malaysian Qualification Register of MQA will still reflect as 41 graduating credits as per the approval from MoHE.

Fulfilling one of the requirements listed below:

  1. A Bachelor’s degree (Level 6, MQF) in Computing or related fields with a minimum CGPA of 2.50, as accepted by the HEP Senate; OR
  2. A Bachelor’s degree (Level 6, MQF) in Computing or related fields or equivalent with a minimum CGPA of 2.00 can be accepted subject to a minimum of FIVE (5) years of working experience in the related fields and rigorous internal assessment; OR
  3. Other qualifications equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree (Level 6, MQF) in the field of Computing or related fields recognised by the Government of Malaysia must undergo appropriate prerequisite courses as determined by the HEP
  4.  Application via APEL A is allowed. For the requirements please refer to the index page.
  5. Candidates without a qualification in the related fields or relevant working experience must undergo appropriate prerequisite courses as determined by the HEP and meet a minimum CGPA of 2.00 with minimum of FIVE (5) years of working experience in the related fields, and rigorous internal assessment.
  6. For international students: IELTS 6.0 / TOEFL 60 (Internet Based Test) (May join IEN preparatory course and achieve the IELTS score)

If Your Bachelor's Degree is from a Different Field

  1. Students without experience in Computing will have to complete and pass a Bridging module (ITS70102 Fundamentals of IT) before undertaking the core modules of the programme.
