Eradicating Poverty Impact Lab is a collaborative team of diverse groups of academic experts, dedicated students and industry partners committed to ending poverty through empowerment of individuals, especially those from the marginalised and vulnerable sectors.

 

Our transdisciplinary approach involves research, education and practical collaboration with the School of Hospitality, Tourism and Events, School of Liberal Arts and Sciences, School of Management and Marketing under Taylor's Business School, and School of Media and Communication.

ABOUT US

Eradicating Poverty Impact Lab is a collaborative team of diverse groups of academic experts, dedicated students and industry partners committed to ending poverty through empowerment of individuals, especially those from the marginalised and vulnerable sectors. Guided by relevant United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, the team targets the following:

  • Enable the absolute and hardcore to meet their basic needs to lead a life of dignity
  • Enable B40 communities (the lowest 40% of income earners in Malaysia) to reach M40 (middle-income households) status through initiatives that provide the necessary skills, knowledge, and platforms
  • Provide opportunities to reduce inequalities, build resilience and help specific target groups to step out of the cycle of poverty
  • Create safety nets for communities to keep them from slipping back into poverty after periods of prosperity

Our transdisciplinary approach encompasses a blend of research, education, and hands-on collaboration. We actively engage with the expertise of the following schools to foster innovation and cross-disciplinary synergy:
