About the Programme

BizPod, Taylor’s University startup incubator, in collaboration with Penjana Kapital, offered the innovative KapitalX3 Junior Venture Capital Talent Programme. The two-month curriculum, which commenced on May 4, 2024, was specifically designed by industry professionals and the institution’s academics to cultivate the next generation of venture capital professionals.

Upon completion of the programme, selected participants will have an exclusive opportunity to undergo on-the-job training with top-tier partner venture capital firms identified by the Malaysian Venture Capital & Private Equity Association (MVCA). This comprehensive learning experience allows participants to be mentored by experienced venture capitalists’ leaders, gaining hands-on experience through the application of theoretical knowledge in real-world settings – enhancing their challenges and successes of day-to-day tasks, and responsibilities of a venture capital investment analyst.

In collaboration with our esteemed curriculum partner, Artem Ventures, this programme brought to life a transformative curriculum that seamlessly bridges the gap between academics and real-world venture capital practices. The invaluable contributions of the Taylor’s Business School team—Dr. Malarvilly, Dr. Yamunah, and Professor Dr. Ong Kian Ming, Pro-Vice Chancellor of External Engagement—added immense depth and expertise. Additionally, the steadfast support from Jelawang Capital (formerly Penjana Kapital) played a pivotal role in making this initiative a resounding success.

The Graduation Day

After two months of intensive learning, collaboration, and growth, the KapitalX³ Junior Talent Programme has officially come to an inspiring close! This transformative initiative, originally envisioned under the leadership of Taufiq Iskandar, former CEO of Penjana Kapital, was designed to empower final-year students and fresh graduates with the skills and insights needed to thrive as Venture Capital (VC) analysts.

The graduation ceremony was not only a celebration of the hard work and achievements of our participants but also an opportunity to highlight their potential to drive innovation and impact within the startup ecosystem. We were honoured to host Bryan Lim, the new CEO of Jelawang Capital (formerly known as Penjana Kapital), at Taylor’s University for this special event.

To the graduates, congratulations on completing this incredible journey! Your determination, curiosity, and passion will undoubtedly pave the way for your future successes in the world of venture capital.

A big thank you to our VC partners and supporters for championing the next generation of talent. To our graduates—this is just the beginning. We can’t wait to see how you shape the future of VC and innovation.
