The BizPod Grant provides funding for Taylor’s University and College students who want to develop, test or launch an early-stage startup idea. Whether you’re still validating an idea, developing a prototype or building your MVP, the grant is designed to help you take your next step. Selected projects may receive up to RM10,000, subject to approval.

Before starting your application, take a moment to review the eligibility requirements and make sure your project meets the criteria for the BizPod Grant. This will help you determine whether you are eligible to apply and ensure you are prepared to move forward with your application.
You must be a current Taylor’s University or Taylor’s College student, with at least one student included as a project applicant.
You can apply as an individual or as a team.
You must demonstrate a clear business idea, defined project objectives, and a strong commitment to developing your project throughout the grant period.
You must submit an estimated eight-month budget outlining how you plan to use the grant funds.
You must submit an eight-month milestone plan outlining your project’s progress and key deliverables.
Note: The budget and milestone plan do not need to be highly detailed at the application stage—reasonable estimates are acceptable. However, applicants are encouraged to provide a realistic and achievable timeline.
Before applying for the BizPod Grant, make sure you have the following information and documents ready to support your application and clearly present your project idea, objectives, budget and proposed milestones:
Your team members’ names and contact details
Your faculty, module and module leader details, if applicable
A short description of the problem, target users and any evidence of validation
A short explanation of your proposed solution and unique selling point
A simple eight-month budget of up to RM10,000
An eight-month milestone plan, including the intended final outcome
The relevant UN Sustainable Development Goal, if applicable
Note: The budget should be uploaded as a PDF. The milestone plan may be submitted as a PDF or image. Only one application is required per project and should be submitted by the team lead.
A clear and meaningful problem that presents a genuine need or opportunity for your project to address.
A practical and feasible solution that effectively addresses the identified problem and meets the needs of the target users.
The capability, commitment and readiness of the founder or team to effectively execute the project and turn the proposed idea into meaningful outcomes.
A realistic, well-justified and appropriate allocation of funding that clearly supports the project’s objectives and planned activities.
The potential for the project to develop into a viable and sustainable startup with clear opportunities for growth and future development.
The BizPod Grant provides up to RM10,000 in funding per project to support you in developing your idea. The grant amount will be determined based on your proposed activities and a clearly defined breakdown of how the funding will be used.
The grant funding period will be available for eight months from the date stated in your Letter of Award or official commencement notice.

Applications are reviewed and shortlisted applicants proceed to the pitching stage.
Shortlisted applicants attend a pitching workshop to prepare and refine their pitch.
Present your startup/project to the judging panel.

No. You can apply with an early idea, prototype or project as long as you have a clear problem, solution and plan.
Yes. Solo founders and teams can apply.
No. Students can apply at the idea stage as well as with prototypes, MVPs or early-stage startups.

Yes. Shortlisted applicants must attend the pitching workshop and final pitching session.
No. Students who register their interest will still need to submit an official application when the next intake opens.
Yes. The grant is open to all active Taylor’s students, regardless of nationality.
In general, founders retain ownership of their intellectual property. However, shared-ownership arrangements may apply in certain circumstances, particularly when BizPod provides support for an IP filing.
Yes. Applicants are welcome to reapply in a future grant cycle.
