Taylor’s University officially launched its new BizPod Coworking Space on 31 July 2026 through the BizPod Networking Event 2026.

The event brought together representatives from more than 50 partner organisations, alongside student entrepreneurs, mentors, investors, alumni founders and university leaders. It marked a strengthened commitment by Taylor’s University to make entrepreneurship a central part of the student experience.

Professor Dr Eddy Chong, Executive Dean of the Faculty of Business and Law, opened the event by highlighting the importance of experiential learning and closer collaboration between education and industry. As Professor Eddy shared, entrepreneurship is best developed through experience—when students are able to test their ideas, solve real-world challenges and learn alongside people with relevant industry knowledge.

A Space Created for Collaboration

BizPod’s new home is located on Level 1 of Syopz Mall, opposite the gym—because we want our entrepreneurs to stay active, both in building their businesses and, perhaps, at the gym too.

The new space features six meeting rooms and a flexible seminar area capable of hosting up to 50 attendees. It has been designed specifically for students to meet, collaborate, develop ideas and build their ventures.

The space will also host monthly founder events, mentorship sessions, startup workshops, pitching activities and community gatherings. These activities will bring students together with founders, mentors and industry professionals in a consistent and meaningful way.

BizPod supports student entrepreneurs through three main areas: running entrepreneurship programmes, incubating student startups and connecting students with industry experts.

Its programmes include Team Entrepreneurship, the Technopreneurship Project and other university entrepreneurship modules. BizPod also delivers shorter-term initiatives such as the Hult Prize, mini accelerator programmes, founder-sharing sessions and startup workshops.

Students who decide to take their ideas further can receive practical support through mentorship, workspace, workshops, feedback, startup tools and early-stage funding opportunities.

The new coworking space brings these different forms of support together under one roof.

Connecting Students With Industry

The launch welcomed representatives from organisations including Cradle Fund, MRANTI, MDEC, AWS, Amadeus, CTOS, Gobi Partners, NEXEA, Kairous Capital, COPE Private Equity, Twin Towers Venture, Kumpulan Modal Perdana, Sunway iLabs, SME Malaysia and many others.

Their presence reflected a shared commitment to helping students become better prepared for the realities of entrepreneurship.

Through direct conversations with mentors, investors and industry practitioners, students are challenged to think more carefully about their customers, business models, market opportunities and capacity for growth.

One of the event’s main highlights was the BizPod Mentor Clinic in partnership with Cradle Fund. The clinic connected Cradle representatives with seven student teams for focused conversations about their ventures, challenges and next steps.

Following its introduction at the launch, the Mentor Clinic will continue as a monthly initiative, creating more regular opportunities for student founders to receive practical guidance from experienced mentors and industry experts.

BizPod extends its heartfelt appreciation to Cradle Fund for its collaboration and support in introducing this initiative.

Student Projects Take Centre Stage

The event also featured a Student Startup Showcase, where six student-led projects presented their products, prototypes, and ideas:

  • Aerii is an anti-pollution skincare brand offering a lightweight facial mist designed to help protect the skin from environmental pollutants.
  • SEWA Manager is a one-stop proptech management automation Platform for landlords and tenants finding rentals in Bandar Sunway
  • Diamond Retail Solution (DRS) is a customisable retail management system that helps retail businesses manage sales, inventory, reporting, and daily operations more efficiently.
  • Edge Portfolio is a web-based quantitative signal platform that simplifies cryptocurrency investing through data-driven, algorithmic trading signals.
  • Filatics is a student-led startup transforming plastic waste into opportunities through sustainable 3D printing. They run hands-on workshops, develop recycled filament prototypes, and promote recycling awareness to inspire creative, eco-friendly innovation.
  • Petbe makes customised, breed-accurate 3D-printed tags with optional GPS tracking, combining personalisation with app-based tracking and in-house 3D-printing capabilities.

The showcase allowed the students to explain what they were building, demonstrate their progress and receive valuable feedback from professionals outside the classroom. The projects were developed by students from different programmes, disciplines and backgrounds, reinforcing BizPod’s belief that entrepreneurship should be accessible to students across the University.

Whether a student is exploring an early idea, building a prototype or already operating a business, BizPod aims to provide the environment, tools and connections needed to help them move forward.
