Work-based learning (WBL) offers students a year of hands-on experience with industry partners. In this time, they gain practical, real-world skills, which complement the knowledge acquired in the first two years of their degree, enhancing their career readiness.

REQUIRED COMPONENT

Learn on-campus for 2 years, and proceed to 1 final year of on-site work-based learning, taught and assessed by academics and our industry partners.

OPTIONAL COMPONENT

You can choose to opt for work-based learning in your 3rd year, or study your final year on campus with an internship module in your final semester.

How is WBL different to Internship?

An internship is where students apply what they have learnt in an industrial setting. However, in work-based learning programme, students in their final year of study undertake modules in an industrial setting. Teaching and learning activities are co-taught by industry and academic supervisors while assessments are co-assessed.

How will students be assessed in the year of WBL study?

Do all students in the programme have the opportunity to choose the WBL option?

Can students choose their choice of industry partner for WBL?

Will there be any difference in fees with the WBL mode of study?

During the year of work-based learning (WBL) will students be paid/compensated?

How will the student be prepared for a year of work experience with the right skills and knowledge seeing that the “teaching” is reduced to 2 years? Does WBL reduce “teaching” to 2 years?

Can students still be part of the Global Mobility Student Exchange Programme if they choose the WBL option?

Will students be hired by the industry partner once they have completed their studies and WBL year after graduation?
