The Centre for Future Learning ensures that learning and teaching at Taylor's is relevant, evidence-based, and consistently excellent. We work alongside the University, its Schools, and all academic staff to design curriculum, strengthen teaching, and bring advanced technology into the classroom for meaningful learning.

The Centre is currently organised into two functions. Curriculum and Educational Development leads institutional curriculum design and development, as well as professional development of academics in teaching and learning. Learning Innovation and Development champions technology-enhanced learning and pedagogical innovation within student learning.

The Centre is organised into two functions. Curriculum and Educational Development leads the design and review of programmes and the development of academic staff. Learning Innovation and Development leads the evaluation and responsible introduction of new approaches, including artificial intelligence, into Taylor's teaching.

Curriculum Design and Development

We support the design of new programmes, and the review of existing ones, to align with the Taylor's Curriculum Framework, regulatory requirements, and evidence-based practice.

Policy and Review

We conduct periodic review on related academic policies, supporting continued strategic alignment, relevance and competitiveness of programmes offered

Innovative Pedagogical Practices

We promote excellent practice and innovations in student academic experiences and programme design, including modules and assessments, across Taylor’s faculties and schools.

Training

We organise and facilitate in-house professional training to enhance academic staff's teaching skills

Academic Conferences

We promote scholarship in teaching and learning among Taylor’s academic staff, via annual teaching and learning conferences.

Teaching Engagement Scale

We manage the Teaching Engagement Scale as a structured mechanism within the University for feedback and improvement of modules.

Digital Technology in Higher Education

We explore and implement emerging technologies including Agentic AI, XR, and immersive learning into the classroom for better educational experiences.

Advanced Learning Ecosystem

We leverage platforms and virtual systems such as myTIMeS, Noodle Factory, learning analytics, and learning intelligence capabilities to improve engagement, early intervention, and individual student success.

Virtual Learning Models

With AI Avatar videos, Hyflex learning and other evidence-based pedagogies, students are empowered to learn in a self-paced, personalised manner. We also oversee Open and Distance Learning across the institution.

Taylor’s approach to AI is grounded in the following guiding principles. Beyond our students, these principles are encouraged to be adopted across the Taylor’s community, providing a shared foundation for expectations and practice.

A published principle changes nothing until an academic can act on it in their own module. The Centre runs a continuing programme of workshops and structured development for teaching staff across every school, delivered in person and online, and open to academic staff at every stage of their career.
