International Triumph: Lim Yee Fah Wins Big at AYDA 2020

The Taylors Design School has done it again. Malaysia’s representatives Lim Yee Fah for Interior Design category won the title “Asia Young Designer of the Year” for Interior Design Category winning 6 weeks all expenses paid design discovery programme at the Harvard Graduate School of Design in Boston, United States worth USD 10,000.00. Lim Yee Fah continued her journey from earlier winning gold award at the National level to competing with other winners from 15 other countries in the International Finals to winning Platinum Award.

The prestigious AYDA is coming to its 14th year and has grown in terms of reach and stature, and has now established itself as one of the Asia’s premier design awards. It has been the platform of choice in nurturing future design talents and pushing design boundaries. The theme for this year’s competition is Forward >>Human-Centered Design 2020, echoing the relevance of co-existence of people, community and the environment in the future living.

National Achievements and Ongoing Excellence at Taylor's

Earlier at the national level, here were 1118 entries this year from over than 20 universities and colleges in Malaysia, and 9 of BA (Hons) in Interior Architecture at The Design School were shortlisted out of 12 finalists. We are very excited that the top 2 winners were our graduating students, Evva Lim Yee Fah, who bags much coveted Gold Award and Best Colour Choice Award, followed by Jaycee Wong Siew Sang with the Silver Award and Best Green Innovation Category. On top of that, Taylors University won the Best Mentor Category and The Best College/University Award.

Taylor’s University have been supporting AYDA and our students from BA (Honours) in Interior Architecture programme have made Malaysia proud by winning the Platinum Award at International Level in 2016 (Chai Min Li), 2017 (Shahmeena Labeeb), 2018 (Zachary Khaw Lit Siang) and Lim Yee Fah in 2020.
