Taylor’s emerged as a clear front-runner when Team The Goat, comprising School of Computer Science students Sim Hong Bing and Siew Yue Ying, alongside Cambridge A Level student Chua Chi Shen, clinched the championship title with Mindspace, an Augmented Reality spatial companion designed to support neurodivergent individuals with executive functioning challenges. Despite coming from different levels of study, each team member brought distinct strengths to the table: Chua demonstrated the confidence and initiative to collaborate beyond his programme, and together with Sim and Siew, applied their advanced technical expertise to drive the project’s innovation.
Together, they created a solution that integrates mixed-reality passthrough, spatial scanning, and AI-powered item tracking to guide users through everyday organisational tasks. By transforming routines into engaging visual workflows, their project exemplifies how empathetic design and emerging technologies can meaningfully reduce mental load and empower users to regain confidence in their daily lives.
