On 6th May, Taylor's Centre for Family Business (TCFB), in an exclusive collaboration with the Malaysian Timber Council (MTC) and its Youth Chair Committee (MYCC), hosted a powerful session titled "Unlocking Your Legacy: Navigating Family Dynamics and Wealth Succession." Designed to empower next-generation leaders in family businesses, the event featured dynamic presentations, interactive discussions, and networking opportunities that fostered rich dialogue around emotional intelligence, governance, and legacy stewardship.

Dr. Johnben Loy set the tone with two impactful sessions—“Understanding Multi-Generational Dynamics in Family Business” and “Emotional & Communication Skills to Bridge the Multi-Generational Gap.” Drawing from Malaysian case studies and his BET'RR framework, he helped participants uncover the roots of generational tension and offered practical tools for self-awareness and dialogue.

After a meaningful lunch and networking session, Alvin Yap led a thought-provoking workshop on “Decoding Family Wealth & Business Succession,” emphasizing the 3+1 principles for aligning financial strategy with family unity. The strong turnout and engaged participation by MTC members—many of whom are successors themselves—highlighted a growing commitment to securing legacy, resilience, and harmony in Malaysia’s family-run timber enterprises.
