A student body working collaboratively with Taylor’s Student Development (SD) to assist new students in their transition into University Life. Our goal is to enrich their first-year experiences in Taylor’s by instilling the Taylor’s Culture of excellence into our new students.

 

It is the university’s focus to support new students in getting adjusted to the new learning environment, hence the program has been designed to be fun, interesting, lively, encouraging and allows bonding with various orientation activities being planned.

Recruitment for Orientation Leaders takes place annually during the Clubs and Societies Festival, following April Orientation Week.

Registration Process

Registration Process

  1. Each recruit is required to fill out the recruitment Google Form and attend a formal interview session conducted by the current term’s executive committee and board of directors.
  2. The selection process follows a standard criteria rubric to prevent bias.
  3. Selected recruits will be informed one or two weeks after the interview period ended.
  4. If passed, each recruit will go through an apprenticeship programme spans for a total of 6 months and will be assigned a full-fledged orientation leader to serve as their mentor throughout the apprenticeship programme.
  5. At the evaluation stage, each mentor will gather along with the executive committee and board of directors to review the performance of each apprentice.
  6. A vote is cast for each apprentice to fall under the category of either passed, failed or inconclusive.
  7. The voting is used as a factor taken into consideration when the executive committee and board of directors make the final decision.
