As the first private university to be recognised by the Board of Architects Malaysia (Lembaga Arkitek Malaysia or LAM), our Architecture programmes have been meticulously designed to meet LAM's rigorous requirements. This recognition grants our graduates the advantage of being eligible for exemption from the LAM Part I and Part II Examination, facilitating their journey towards becoming Graduate Architects.

PROFESSIONAL BODIES

Our programmes stand out by adhering to the rigorous standards set by these esteemed professional accreditation boards. This achievement is a result of our unwavering commitment to maintaining stringent entry requirements, offering a comprehensive curriculum, fostering a supportive learning environment, and providing access to abundant resources. Our qualified teaching faculty, with their vast expertise and experience, ensure that our students receive the highest quality education.

DESIGNING FUNCTIONAL LEGACIES

We intend to address the urgent need to include modern architecture as part of the architectural heritage in Southeast Asia, thus aiding the process of planning settlements and designing buildings that are suited to the context and continuity of the cultures of Southeast Asia

As part of our initiatives to document our heritage, the students visited Kampung Cina, Kuala Terengganu, to examine the site and produce detailed drawings. These drawings were subsequently used to restore a temple to its former glory after it was partly ruined in a fire.

Other research projects undertaken by our students include:

  • Modern Architecture Kuala Lumpur Series featuring Masjid Negara, Muzium Negara, Stadium Negara, Stadium Chin Woo and British Council
  • The Inventory of Sungai Buloh Leprosy Settlements, Selangor
  • Chapel of St. Francis Institution, Malacca
  • No. 6, Hereen Street, Bandar Hilir, Malacca
  • Ho Ann Kiong Temple, Kampung Cina, Kuala Terengganu and many more
