Our Master of Applied Computing programme is designed to foster innovation and nurture future technology leaders. We are committed to developing critical talent for the knowledge economy while strengthening academic-industry partnerships across disciplines.

 

This prestigious programme prepares you to lead through specialisations in Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, and our newest track in Cybersecurity. Artificial Intelligence explores the complexities of machine learning, deep learning, and natural language processing. Data Science delves into big data analytics, statistical modelling, and data visualisation, while Cybersecurity equips students to design, defend, and respond to evolving digital threats across systems and networks.

 

With only a select cohort admitted each intake, you'll benefit from close mentorship by experienced faculty, going on to drive innovation at research labs and tech firms.

Note

  • Kindly note that the Master of Applied Computing programme is approved by MoHE as 41 Graduating Credits. However, students can do a double specialisation with 49 Credits as additional credits. The Malaysian Qualification Register of MQA will still reflect as 41 graduating credits as per the approval from MoHE.

Fulfilling one of the requirements listed below:

  1. A Bachelor’s degree (Level 6, MQF) in Computing or related fields with a minimum CGPA of 2.50, as accepted by the HEP Senate; OR
  2. A Bachelor’s degree (Level 6, MQF) in Computing or related fields with a minimum CGPA of 2.00 and not meeting a CGPA of 2.50 can be accepted subject to a thorough rigorous assessment as determined by the HEP; OR
  3. Other qualifications equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree (Level 6, MQF) in Computing or related fields recognisedby the Government of Malaysia must fulfil the requirement on item 1 or 2.
  4. Application via APEL A is allowed. For the requirements please refer to the index page.
  5. A Bachelor’s degree (Level 6, MQF) in Non-Computing field with a minimum CGPA of 2.00 can be accepted subject to a thorough rigorous assessment as determined by the HEP to identify the appropriate prerequisite courses that equivalent to their working experience in Computing or related fields; OR
  6. A Bachelor’s degree (Level 6, MQF) in Non-Computing field with a minimum CGPA of 2.00 can be accepted subject to appropriate prerequisite courses.

 

International Students

English Requirement: Achieve a minimum of Band 4 in MUET or equivalent to CEFR (Low B2). 

 

 

If Your Bachelor's Degree is from a Different Field

  1. Students without experience in Computing will have to complete and pass a Bridging module (ITS70102 Fundamentals of IT) before undertaking the core modules of the programme.
