Emeritus Professor Dr Roger Phillips is a cancer pharmacologist specialising in tumour hypoxia and the development of novel anti-cancer agents through both target-oriented and phenotype-based discovery approaches. His research has achieved significant clinical relevance, most notably through the development of Apaziquone (EO9) for non-muscle invasive bladder cancer, which progressed to Phase II clinical trials in the USA, Canada, and Europe.

 

He has published more than 150 research articles and supervised over 30 postgraduate students. His teaching is strongly research-led, with a focus on bringing the latest advances in cancer pharmacology into the classroom. Although he retired as Associate Dean for Research at the University of Huddersfield in September 2024, he remains research active as Professor Emeritus. He also holds an Adjunct Professorship at Taylor's University, Malaysia.

Professor Dr Darren Creek is an ARC Future Fellow and Director of the Drug Target Identification node of the Monash Proteomics and Metabolomics Platform. He completed his Bachelor of Pharmacy and PhD at Monash University in 2007, followed by postdoctoral fellowships in biochemical parasitology at the University of Glasgow and the University of Melbourne, as well as a clinical pharmacokinetics study in Uganda in collaboration with UCSF-Makerere University.

 

Over the past decade, his laboratory at the Monash Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences has made significant contributions to malaria drug discovery and parasite metabolism, while developing new analytical tools for metabolomics and proteomics. His work is described across 175 publications. He is also Co-coordinator for the MIPS Global Health Therapeutic Programme Area and currently leads a research team focused on discovering new drug candidates for malaria.

Professor Dr Chonlaphat Sukasem is a leading expert in clinical pharmacogenomics and personalised medicine at Mahidol University, Thailand. He serves as Professor in Clinical Pathology and Pharmacogenomics, Head of the Division of Pharmacogenomics and Personalised Medicine, and Chief of the Laboratory for Pharmacogenomics at Somdech Phra Debaratana Medical Centre. A pioneer in Asian clinical pharmacogenomics, he was the first Project Manager of the Pharmacogenomics Thailand Project (2004) and is a founding member and Secretariat of the Southeast Asian Pharmacogenomics Association (SEAPHARM). He also holds an appointment as Senior Lecturer in Molecular and Clinical Pharmacology at the University of Liverpool.

 

With over 200 peer-reviewed publications, his research focuses on pharmacogenomics, clinical pharmacology, drug safety, and precision medicine, including the discovery of biomarkers for severe cutaneous adverse drug reactions and the translation of pharmacogenetic testing into clinical practice.

Pham Diem Thu is a Lecturer and Researcher at the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Medicine and Pharmacy at Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, a position she has held since 2011. She holds a Bachelor of Pharmacy from the same institution and a Master of Science in Pharmacology and Toxicology from Kangwon National University, South Korea, and is currently a PhD candidate specialising in Pharmacology and Clinical Pharmacy.

 

Her research bridges computational pharmacology, target-based drug discovery and clinical epidemiology. She integrates AI-driven virtual screening, molecular docking and QSAR modelling with recombinant protein technology, specifically human MAO-B expression in Pichia pastoris, to discover novel therapeutics for neurodegenerative diseases. Her work also encompasses pharmacoepidemiology, UHPLC-MS/MS biomarker quantification and clinical diagnostic monitoring in respiratory and psychiatric disorders.

Dr Cheah Min Hui is a clinical pharmacist and Lecturer at the School of Pharmacy, Taylor's University. Her research interests include implementation science, geriatric pharmacy, fragility fracture care, HIV prevention and telepharmacy.

 

Her current work explores a telepharmacy medication review model for home care patients, integrating experiential learning for pharmacy students with remote pharmacist supervision.

Dr Chu Chee Chin is a researcher specialising in cosmetic science and advanced delivery systems for skin health. Her research focuses on innovative formulation technologies, including nanostructured lipid carriers, proniosomes and lipid-based encapsulation systems, to improve the efficacy, stability, safety and performance of cosmetic and topical products. Her work explores photoprotection, skin barrier biology, anti-ageing strategies and natural bioactive ingredients for skin longevity.

 

She has led and collaborated on nationally funded, industry and institutional research projects in sunscreen innovation, cosmetic formulation, skin efficacy and safety evaluation, and bioactive ingredient development. By integrating formulation science with skin biology, she aims to translate scientific discoveries into evidence-based dermocosmetic and personal care solutions that promote healthy skin and sustainable cosmetic innovation.

Dr Fun Weng Hong is Head of the Centre for Health Outcomes Research at the Institute for Health Systems Research, Ministry of Health Malaysia. His work spans health economics, health outcomes, and health systems research, including the use of modelling to inform policy and service planning. He previously served as Cluster Head for the Aged Population under the MOH Research Grant and was a member of the Health Technology Assessment Technical Advisory Committee.

 

His research areas include healthy ageing, long-term care, health system performance, and cancer screening, with outputs that support policy planning and decision-making within the Malaysian health system. He also serves as Adjunct Lecturer at Monash University Malaysia.

Dr How Chee Wun is a Senior Lecturer at the School of Pharmacy, Monash University Malaysia. His research interests lie in neurochemistry, neuropharmacology and drug delivery aimed at the brain. He combines systems-level and network-based computational approaches with cell biology and the development of targeted delivery platforms, including intranasal formulations designed to reach the brain more efficiently, and extends to extracellular vesicles as a therapeutic.

 

He has secured multiple competitive research grants, including funding from the Fundamental Research Grant Scheme, the Public Private Research Network, the High Impact Research Support Fund and industry partners, and his publications include work recognised internationally for its research impact. He has mentored multiple PhD students through to graduation, with alumni now holding academic and industry research positions, and serves as Deputy Treasurer of the Malaysian Association for Cancer Research.

Dr Koh Hock Peng is a pharmacist with over 15 years of professional experience spanning clinical practice and academia. He holds a PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences, a Master of Clinical Pharmacy, and a Bachelor of Pharmacy with Honours. He currently practises as a Clinical Emergency Medicine Pharmacist at Hospital Kuala Lumpur and serves as Chairperson of the national working committee on clinical emergency pharmacy, contributing to the advancement of emergency pharmacy services in Malaysia.

 

His clinical work focuses on emergency and cardiology care, and he has over 20 publications to his name, alongside multiple awards for research presentations including the Young Investigator Award. He has also contributed to the development of several national clinical guidelines.

Dr Pham Nu Hanh Van is Vice Head of the Faculty of Pharmacy and Head of the Department of Pharmacy Management and Economics at Phenikaa University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Vietnam. She is an experienced expert in pharmacoeconomics, health technology assessment and health policy.

 

She serves on the Pharmacoeconomic Sub-committee for the Vietnam Ministry of Health, advising on national health insurance reimbursement, and was a task force member developing the National Vietnam Pharmacoeconomics Reporting Guidelines, promulgated by the Ministry under Decision No. 1315/QD-BYT. She has led numerous research projects on health policy, drug access management, cost-effectiveness and budget impact, particularly in oncology and chronic diseases, informing national healthcare and pharmaceutical policies.

Dr Satrialdi is an Assistant Professor in the Pharmaceutics Department at the School of Pharmacy, Institut Teknologi Bandung, Indonesia, where he serves as Head of the Undergraduate Programme in Pharmaceutical Science and Technology. He received his doctorate in Pharmaceutical Science from Hokkaido University, Japan.

 

His research focuses on the development of advanced drug delivery systems, particularly those targeting the mitochondria of cells, using lipid-based nanoparticles including liposomes, nanostructured lipid carriers and nanoemulsions as delivery platforms. He has authored 23 peer-reviewed articles in leading international journals, and contributes to pharmacy education, curriculum development and professional service within the pharmaceutical sciences community, including as a reviewer for several journals.

Dr Thaigarajan Parumasivam is Programme Chair for Pharmaceutical Technology at the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Universiti Sains Malaysia. He is Honorary Treasurer of the Young Scientists Network of the Academy of Sciences Malaysia and President of the Malaysian Society of Pharmaceutical Technology. His research integrates microbiology with advanced pharmaceutical technology to develop drug delivery systems for pulmonary and nose-to-brain administration, translating natural products and nanotechnology into therapies for tuberculosis, lung cancer and Alzheimer's disease.

 

His work has been supported by competitive grants from the Ministry of Higher Education and the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation. He is a recipient of the Global Young Scientists Summit (Singapore, 2019), the ASEAN Science Leadership Fellowship (2019) and the Council of Pharmacy Deans Excellence Award (2023), and serves as Guest Editor and Associate Editor for several international journals. He recently contributed as a module developer for the DELIMA programme under the Higher Education Leadership Academy.

Trained as a pharmacist before moving into computational drug discovery, Dr Vinod Devaraji leads scientific delivery for pharmaceutical partners across the Asia Pacific as a Senior Scientist based in Bangalore, India. He holds a Bachelor and Master of Pharmacy in Pharmaceutical Chemistry from The Tamil Nadu Dr M.G.R. Medical University and a PhD in Biotechnology from Vellore Institute of Technology.

 

Over 14 years he has worked on hit discovery through to lead optimisation across small molecules, peptides, protein degraders and RNA therapeutics, covering targets including GPCRs, kinases, protein-protein interactions and cryptic allosteric sites. His current scientific interests centre on integrating physics-based simulation with generative AI for molecular design, and on translational PK and ADMET prediction. He has authored more than 40 peer-reviewed publications and delivered over 25 invited talks and workshops across the region.

Dr Zamrotul Izzah is an Assistant Professor and Secretary of the Department of Pharmacy Practice (2025-2030) at the Faculty of Pharmacy, Universitas Airlangga, and a Clinical Pharmacist at Universitas Airlangga Hospital, Indonesia. She earned her PhD from the University of Groningen, the Netherlands, after completing a Master's degree in Clinical Pharmacy, International Practice and Policy at University College London, United Kingdom.

 

Her research focuses on clinical pharmacy, medication adherence, therapeutic drug monitoring and drug utilisation studies. She has published extensively in peer-reviewed international journals and collaborates actively with international researchers. She is a member of several international professional organisations, including the International Pharmaceutical Federation, the International Association of Therapeutic Drug Monitoring and Clinical Toxicology, and the International Society for Medication Adherence.

Associate Professor Dr Chalermpong Saenjum is an academic at Chiang Mai University, Thailand, where he earned his Bachelor's, Master's, and PhD degrees in Pharmacy. His doctoral studies were supported by the Franco-Thai Scholarship Programme in collaboration with the University of Paris 6, France. He currently serves as Associate Professor in the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Head of the Research Centre for Innovation in Analytical Science and Technology for Biodiversity-Based Economy and Society (I-ANALY-S.T.BES-CMU) at Chiang Mai University's Multidisciplinary Research Institute.

 

His research focuses on green and sustainable chemical and pharmaceutical analysis, including scaled-down methods, simplified procedures, and the use of natural reagents and solvents. He is also involved in the discovery and development of natural product active pharmaceutical ingredients and their molecular signalling pathways. He has published over 135 peer-reviewed international papers, with approximately 1,750 citations and an H-index of 22.

Associate Professor Dr Chatchai Chaotham is a faculty member at the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chulalongkorn University, Thailand, where he also serves as Associate Dean for Graduate Studies and Lifelong Learning Affairs. His research focuses on translational pharmacology, cancer biology, cell-based assays and advanced three-dimensional experimental models.

 

He is particularly interested in applying organoid and other physiologically relevant models to investigate drug mechanisms, therapeutic responses and the pharmacological potential of natural and pharmaceutical products, and in how advanced preclinical platforms can improve the biological relevance and predictive value of laboratory studies. He is actively engaged in graduate education, research capacity development, international academic collaboration and the advancement of lifelong learning in pharmaceutical sciences.

Associate Professor Dr Dang Nguyen Doan Trang earned her Bachelor of Pharmacy and Master of Science in Pharmacology and Clinical Pharmacy from the University of Medicine and Pharmacy at Ho Chi Minh City. She completed her PhD at the University of Michigan in 2012 and became an Associate Professor in 2018. She currently serves as Vice Head of the university's Department of Clinical Pharmacy, Head of Pharmacy at University Medical Centre Ho Chi Minh City, and Vice President of the Ho Chi Minh City Hospital Pharmacists Association.

 

Through these academic, clinical and professional roles she has advanced pharmacy education, research and practice in Vietnam, contributing to national clinical pharmacy training, professional education and evidence-based practice guidelines. Her research focuses on pharmacokinetics, antimicrobial resistance mechanisms and clinical pharmacy interventions, with impact on antimicrobial stewardship, medication safety and the safe, rational use of medicines.

Associate Professor Dr Do Thi Hong Tuoi is a Senior Lecturer in Pharmacology at the School of Pharmacy, University of Medicine and Pharmacy at Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. She qualified as a pharmacist in Vietnam in 2004, then completed a Master's degree in Functional Gene and Health and a PhD in Biomedicine at the University of Rennes 1, France. With more than 20 years of teaching and research experience, her research focuses on experimental pharmacology, natural products, drug development, safety evaluation and advanced drug delivery systems.

 

She has conducted extensive in vitro and in vivo studies in cancer, inflammation, metabolic disorders, liver diseases and drug-induced toxicity. Her recent research includes the development and pharmacological evaluation of niosomal povidone-iodine formulations for oropharyngeal applications, with emphasis on efficacy, local tolerability and safety. Her work supports translational pharmaceutical research, international publication, multidisciplinary collaboration and postgraduate training in Vietnam.

Associate Professor Dr Ernieda Binti Md Hatah is a clinical pharmacy specialist whose research centres on pharmaceutical policy, medication adherence, and pharmacy service development to improve the quality use of medicines. Her work contributes to evidence-based approaches in healthcare practice and informs ongoing improvements in pharmacy service delivery in Malaysia.

Associate Professor Dr Farida Hanim binti Islahudin is a clinical pharmacy academic and registered pharmacist at the Faculty of Pharmacy, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia. Her research focuses on renal pharmacotherapy, individualisation of medication, medication adherence and personalised medicine. Her work in chronic kidney disease spans individual medication assessment, development of the Continuous Adherence Prediction Score, metabolic acidosis management, and the safe use of herbal and complementary medicines in renal patients.

 

She has developed a Medication Counselling Guide for Chronic Kidney Disease to support patient-centred counselling in renal care, and her research extends into precision medicine, particularly CYP3A5 and ABCC2 pharmacogenomics in chronic kidney disease progression and kidney transplantation. She has served in the Malaysian Pharmacists Society National Renal Pharmacy Special Interest Group, including as Chairperson and Head of Research and Innovation, and is currently Chairperson of Quality Management of Medicines.

Assistant Professor Dr Frances Lois U. Ngo is an Assistant Professor at the College of Pharmacy, University of the Philippines Manila. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Industrial Pharmacy from the same university and a Master of Health Social Science from De La Salle University, and completed graduate coursework in Economics at the UP School of Economics.

 

Her teaching, research and policy work focus on pharmaceutical policy, health systems strengthening, health financing, health technology assessment and equitable access to medicines. She has contributed to research and technical assistance projects with government agencies, academic institutions and international development organisations, including the Department of Health, the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation and the Asian Development Bank, supporting evidence-informed decision-making for universal health coverage.

Associate Professor Dr Goh Choon Fu earned his PhD from the School of Pharmacy, University College London, and is Associate Professor in Pharmaceutical Technology at the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Universiti Sains Malaysia. He leads the Goh Skin Research Group, focusing on mucosal and transdermal drug delivery, formulation design and functional biomaterials, and in 2025 was appointed Visiting Professor at Chongqing University Three Gorges Hospital.

 

Since 2016 he has built an internationally recognised profile in cutaneous and mucosal drug delivery, spanning microneedles, hydrogels and nanostructured formulations. His work highlights Malaysian natural compounds, including kratom-derived mitragynine and palm tocotrienol, and sustainable cellulose hydrogels as animal-free alternatives to synthetic polymers. His honours include the 2021 Crown Prince CIPTA ASEAN Innovation Award, a Gold Medal at Malaysia Technology Expo 2024, and being the first Asian recipient of the Transdermal Delivery Kydonieus Award in 2026.

Associate Professor Dr Jason Loo holds an MPharm from the University of Strathclyde and a PhD from the University of Nottingham, completed in 2015. He is currently Associate Professor and Programme Director of the Bachelor of Pharmacy with Honours programme at Taylor's University, and serves as a Council Member of the Malaysian Academy of Pharmacy.

 

His research specialises in computational drug design, with a focus on biomolecular simulations of protein-ligand systems and free energy calculations using methods such as metadynamics and alchemical perturbation. His work spans G protein-coupled receptors and cancer-related targets including Golgi alpha-mannosidase II and the cell surface marker Ly6D. He has published over 30 journal articles in high-impact journals and secured more than half a million ringgit in research funding.

Associate Professor Dr Margarita "Meg" M. Gutierrez is a tenured Associate Professor at the University of the Philippines Manila College of Pharmacy, where she serves as Chair of the Department of Clinical, Social and Administrative Pharmacy. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Pharmacy and a Master of Health Professions Education from UP Manila, and a PhD in Social and Administrative Pharmacy from Chulalongkorn University, Thailand. She is currently pursuing a second PhD in Health Professions Education at UP Manila. A former president of the Philippines Young Pharmacists Group, she is also a Founder Fellow of the Philippine chapter of the FAPA College of Pharmacy.

 

Her contributions to pharmacy education have earned her international recognition, including the FIP Ton Hoek Scholarship for Young Leaders (2019), the FAPA Outstanding Young Pharmacist Award (2024), and the PPhA Most Outstanding Pharmacist in the Academe Award (2024).

Associate Professor Dr Nan Hu is an Associate Professor at the Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine Research and Development, Chengde Medical University, China. She obtained her PhD from the National Center for Nanoscience and Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences.

 

Her research covers the construction of anti-tumour nanomedicines and the study of interstitial structures and interstitial fluid flow behaviour for drug delivery and tumour therapy. She pioneered the intervaginal space injection strategy, a blood-circulation-bypassing interstitial administration route that achieves co-targeting of tumour tissues and draining lymph nodes. As co-first author she has published in high-impact journals including Nano Today and Nano Research, focusing on interstitial nanoparticle transport, photothermal-immunotherapy nanovaccines and pharmacokinetic research.

Associate Professor Dr Renukha Sellappans is Head of the School of Pharmacy at Taylor's University, Malaysia, and Organising Chairperson of the 5th ASEAN PharmNET 2026 Conference. A trained clinical pharmacist, she practised in a hospital setting before completing her PhD at the University of Malaya. She is a Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist (2018–2025), serves as Principal of the Malaysian Academy of Pharmacy, and is a Board Member of the Pharmacy Board of Malaysia.

 

Her research interests include pharmacy practice, medication use, and patient safety among older persons. She brings extensive academic, clinical, and leadership experience to her commitment to advancing pharmacy education, research, and professional excellence in Malaysia.

Associate Professor Dr Sana Shahzad is an Associate Professor of Pharmaceutics at The University of Faisalabad, Pakistan, with over 16 years of academic experience and 26 years of professional expertise as a pharmacist. She earned her PhD in Pharmaceutics from Government College University Faisalabad, where her research focused on hydrogel membranes containing natural extracts for accelerated wound healing.

 

A gold medallist in MPhil Pharmaceutics, she has supervised multiple postgraduate research projects and published widely in international journals, including work on alpha-mangostin encapsulated gellan gum membranes and phenolic extracts mitigating diabetic cardiomyopathy. Her research interests span hydrogels, polymeric films, nano-formulations and advanced drug delivery systems. She serves on editorial boards, contributes to academic leadership, and is recognised for teaching excellence and for fostering international collaborations.

Associate Professor Dr Surakit Nathisuwan is Associate Professor in Clinical Pharmacy and Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy at Mahidol University, Thailand, and serves as Secretariat of the ASEAN PharmNET network. His teaching and research specialise in cardiovascular pharmacotherapy, and he has worked actively with professional organisations and government bodies to advance the competency of Thai pharmacists in patient-oriented care for cardiovascular disease.

 

He has contributed in various capacities to national and international organisations in the areas of drug policy, health systems, and the advancement of pharmacy education and practice.

Associate Professor Dr Usa Chaikledkaew holds a Bachelor of Pharmacy with First Class Honours from Mahidol University, a Master's degree in Economics, and a PhD in Pharmaceutical Economics and Policy from the University of Southern California. She currently serves as Director of the Global Health Technology Assessment (GHTA) Research Centre and Co-Programme Director of the Mahidol University Health Technology Assessment (MUHTA) Graduate Programme. She was a research consultant and founding member of the Health Intervention and Technology Assessment Programme (HITAP), and has served on the health economics working group for the National List of Essential Medicines and as an editor of Thailand's first and second Health Technology Assessment guidelines.

 

Her research in health economics has been widely published in international peer-reviewed journals and has informed policy decisions on national pharmaceutical reimbursement and Universal Health Coverage benefit packages in Thailand and other low- and middle-income countries.

Professor Dr Arry Yanuar is Professor of Medicinal Chemistry at the Faculty of Pharmacy, Universitas Indonesia, where he leads the Biomedical Computation and Drug Design Laboratory. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from Universitas Indonesia, a Master's degree in Pharmaceutical Chemistry from Gadjah Mada University, and a PhD in Structural Biology from the Nara Institute of Science and Technology (NAIST), Japan (2006). His expertise encompasses computer-aided drug design and artificial intelligence, including QSAR, virtual screening, molecular docking, and molecular dynamics simulations.

 

He has published over 170 scientific works, including 88 journal articles and 13 conference papers indexed in Scopus, as well as 87 publications in Web of Science, two books, and one book chapter. Since his appointment as Professor in 2019, he has supervised 9 PhD, 24 Master's, and 134 undergraduate students.

Professor Dr Giorgia Pastorin is Head of the Department of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences at the National University of Singapore (NUS). She earned her PhD in Pharmaceutical Chemistry from the University of Trieste, Italy, in 2004, followed by a research fellowship at CNRS in France. She joined NUS as Assistant Professor in 2005, was promoted to Associate Professor in 2011, appointed Assistant Dean for Research and Development in 2017, and attained Full Professor in 2024.

 

Her research focuses on the production, characterisation, and evaluation of cell-derived nanovesicles and biohybrid systems as biocompatible nanocarriers for delivering bioactive molecules, including anti-cancer drugs and cosmetic compounds. She has secured more than S$15 million in competitive grants as lead principal investigator, edited two books, and authored approximately 170 peer-reviewed articles with over 15,000 citations. She is internationally recognised through invited lectures, keynote presentations, and awards for her BioNano-technology group's contributions to the field.

Professor Dr Hasniza Zaman Huri is Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic and International) at Universiti Malaya. As founding Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy (2019–2025), she led the faculty to its first global ranking, placing 72nd worldwide in Pharmacy and Pharmacology in the QS 2024 rankings. She also serves as Honorary Visiting Consultant at the Clinical Investigation Centre, University Malaya Medical Centre. Beyond her institutional roles, she sits on the Drug Control Authority under the Ministry of Health Malaysia and represents Malaysia in the Global Alliance for the Development of Pharmaceutical Science. She contributes as a Key Opinion Leader in regional clinical trial policy initiatives across ASEAN.

 

Her sustained leadership and contributions to pharmacy practice, education, and professional advancement have been recognised with the World Class Professor Award (2022), the Malaysian Pharmacists Society Outstanding Leadership Award (2024), and the Fellowship of the Malaysian Pharmacists Society (FMPS) in 2026.

Professor Dr Pauline Lai is a Professor at the Department of Primary Care Medicine, Universiti Malaya, and Adjunct Professor at Sunway University, Malaysia. She graduated from Monash University, Melbourne, in 1990 and obtained her doctorate from Universiti Malaya in 2010. Before moving into academia she practised as an industrial and hospital pharmacist in medical information and pharmacy computerisation.

 

Her research focuses on medication optimisation, much of it on the screening and treatment of postmenopausal women with osteoporosis using an interprofessional collaborative approach. She also works on improving outcomes in older persons, including deprescribing, in people with diabetes, on the use of e-health such as medication adherence applications and remote blood pressure monitoring, on advance care planning, and on antibiotic stewardship. She has published almost 90 articles in international peer-reviewed journals and secured more than RM1 million in national and international grants.

Professor Dr Mohd bin Makmor Bakry is Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM). He holds a Bachelor of Pharmacy from UKM, a Master of Clinical Pharmacy from Universiti Sains Malaysia, and a PhD from the University of Glasgow, Scotland, where he also completed an epilepsy research fellowship at Western Infirmary Glasgow. He is the recipient of the Malaysian National Academic Award 2017 in Health Sciences, the Malaysian Higher Education Rethinking and Redesigning Award 2017, and the Malaysian Pharmacists Society Outstanding Pharmacist Award 2024.

 

He has published over 150 journal articles and delivered more than 60 invited talks as keynote, plenary, and invited speaker at local and international conferences. He serves on national committees including the Drug Control Authority and the Pharmacy Board of Malaysia, and at the international level as Board Member of the Association of Asian Schools of Pharmacy and the US-ASEAN Pharmacy Consortium.

Professor Dr Mohd Cairul Iqbal bin Mohd Amin is a distinguished academic in Pharmaceutics at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, where he has served since 1997. He holds a Bachelor of Pharmacy and PhD from the University of Manchester, United Kingdom, and has served as Visiting Professor and Visiting Scholar in Thailand, Indonesia, and other countries. He has held key leadership roles including Deputy Director at the Department of Higher Education (2019–2021) and multiple Deputy Dean positions covering postgraduate studies, innovation, undergraduate affairs, alumni relations, and international engagement.

 

His research focuses on advanced drug delivery systems, including hydrogels, bacterial cellulose-based carriers, and nano-delivery platforms. He has published over 100 high-impact papers, supervised 35 postgraduate students, and secured nearly RM14 million in research grants. He founded the Malaysian chapter of the Controlled Release Society, promoting controlled-release technologies locally and internationally.

Emeritus Professor Dr Paraidathathu Thomas is a pharmacy academic, educator, and regulatory affairs expert with a distinguished career spanning hospital practice, drug regulation, and higher education. He holds a Bachelor of Pharmacy from Mangalore University, and MSc and PhD degrees in Pharmacology and Toxicology from the University of Texas at Austin. He began his career as a hospital pharmacist before becoming one of the pioneers of drug regulatory affairs in Malaysia between 1985 and 1996. He subsequently joined Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, where he served for 16 years and was conferred the title of Emeritus Professor in 2016. He later served as Dean of the School of Pharmacy at Taylor's University.

 

He has contributed to pharmacy education accreditation and evaluation panels internationally, and is the author of Pharmacy in Malaysia: History and Development (2018).

Professor Dr Pornsak Sriamornsak is Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy at Silpakorn University, Thailand, and a distinguished leader in pharmaceutical sciences. He previously served as Vice President for Academic Affairs and Research (2017–2019) and has played a significant role in advancing pharmacy education and research in Thailand. He holds pharmacy degrees from Mahidol University (Thailand) and a PhD from Charles Sturt University (Australia). He serves as President of the Council of Pharmacy Deans of Thailand and holds leadership roles in regional organisations, including President of the Asian Association of Environmental Mutagen Societies and Vice President of the Asian Federation for Pharmaceutical Sciences.

 

His research focuses on drug delivery systems, biopolymers, and pharmaceutical technologies, with over 250 publications. He has received numerous international awards and has been consistently ranked among Stanford University's World's Top 2% of Scientists.

Professor Dr Steven Lim Siong Meng is a pharmacy academic and cancer researcher at Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), Malaysia. He obtained his PhD in Medicine from the University of New South Wales, Australia, in 2013 and has served in UiTM's Department of Pharmacology and Life Sciences since 2019, where he also co-leads the Collaborative Drug Discovery Research Group. His research spans tumour angiogenesis, drug discovery, nutraceuticals, functional foods, anticancer and neuroprotective agents, and therapeutic target identification for cancer, Alzheimer's disease, and Parkinson's disease.

 

He has published 130 indexed journal articles and five book chapters, supervised 11 PhD and 11 Master's graduates, and secured international, national, and industry research grants totalling RM6.1 million. He is active in the Malaysian Association for Cancer Research and the Malaysian Society of Lactic Acid Bacteria.

Professor Dr Triana Hertiani is Professor of Pharmaceutical Biology at Universitas Gadjah Mada and currently serves as Rector of Universitas Jenderal Achmad Yani Yogyakarta, Indonesia. Her research focuses on developing natural product-based therapies derived from Indonesia's biodiversity, particularly for anti-infective applications, as well as evidence-based herbal medicine. She integrates phytochemistry, metabolomics, and network pharmacology to support the translation of bioactive compounds into clinically relevant candidates, including through sustainable development approaches.

 

She has contributed to over 100 peer-reviewed publications in international journals and holds several patents in natural product research. She actively collaborates with academic, industry, and government partners to advance natural product research into impactful health solutions.

Professor Dr Wong Tin Wui is a lecturer and principal fellow at Universiti Teknologi MARA's Faculty of Pharmacy and Smart Manufacturing Research Institute. His research focuses on precision nanodrug delivery via oral, dermal, and pulmonary routes, supporting advances in pharmaceutical formulation and targeted therapy. He has published over 185 peer-reviewed articles and serves on editorial boards for several international journals, including the Asian Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Drug Development and Industrial Pharmacy, and Frontiers in Pharmacology. He founded Malaysia's Non-Destructive Biomedical and Pharmaceutical Research Centre and the Sino-Malaysia Molecular Oncology and Traditional Chinese Medicine Delivery Joint Research Centre in China.

 

He has held visiting, adjunct, and lecture professorships across Malaysia, Singapore, China, India, and Thailand, is a Fellow of the Academy of Sciences Malaysia, and received the FAPA Scientific Section Award in 2023.

Mr John Chang is a highly respected pharmacist and healthcare leader whose career has spanned more than five decades across the pharmacy profession, pharmaceutical industry, healthcare management, policy development and professional education. A Pharmacy graduate of the National University of Singapore in 1969, he has held senior leadership roles in both national and international pharmacy organisations.

 

He is a Past President of the Malaysian Pharmaceutical Society, the Pharmaceutical Association of Malaysia, the Malaysian Professional Centre and the Federation of Asian Pharmaceutical Associations. He has also contributed to the International Pharmaceutical Federation, the Commonwealth Pharmacists Association and the Western Pacific Pharmacy Federation.

 

At the national level, Mr Chang has served on key bodies including the Malaysian Pharmacy Board, the Poisons Board, the National Pharmacy Advisory Council and various Ministry of Health committees, contributing to major initiatives in medicines policy, patient safety, healthcare financing and professional standards.

 

His distinguished contributions have been recognised through numerous honours, including Pharmacist of the Year 2003, Fellow of the Malaysian Pharmaceutical Society, the BIM Professional Excellence Award 2010, the MPS Lifetime Achievement Award 2017, and Fellow of the Commonwealth Pharmacists Association.
