 Taylor’s University proudly announces the appointment of four distinguished figures in the performing arts industry as Adjunct Professors for its Bachelor of Performing Arts (Honours) programme. This initiative reflects the institution’s ongoing commitment to bridging academic excellence with professional practice, empowering students to learn directly from leading practitioners in performance, music, and dance.

Industry Leaders Join Taylor’s Performing Arts Programme

Representing the Performance Track, Siti Saleha binti Mohd Baharum and Datin Hajah Marlia binti Musa bring a wealth of experience and insight from Malaysia’s dynamic performing arts scene.

 

Siti Saleha, an acclaimed actress known for her versatility across television, film, and theatre, is renowned for her authentic portrayals and artistic range. Her contribution will open new pathways for students beyond the stage, guiding them into screen acting, personal branding, and professional networks across television, film, and commercials. Through her mentorship, students will learn to adapt their craft for the screen and build confidence for sustainable careers in the entertainment industry.

 

Alongside her, Datin Marlia Musa, a veteran actress will provide students with a deep understanding of the Malaysian performance landscape. With her extensive experience in both acting and arts education, Datin Marlia Musa will help nurture students’ creativity, discipline, and artistic identity, ensuring they are well-prepared for the demands of the industry.

Music and Dance Tracks Guided by Global Excellence

Joining the Music Track is Dato’ Dr Haji Mohamad Nasir bin Mohamed Sam, an iconic singer-songwriter, composer, and producer whose artistic influence has shaped Malaysia’s music industry for more than four decades. His mentorship will expose students to the creative processes behind songwriting, composition, and production, offering invaluable insights into building a career in the music industry.

 

Maria Sascha Khan, an internationally renowned ballet dancer, a former Principal Ballerina, and Director of Artistic Development for Ballet Nights in South East Asia, joins the Dance Track. Her global experience across performance, choreography, and intercultural collaboration will enrich students’ understanding of dance as a universal language art form that connects people across cultures.

 

“We are incredibly honoured to welcome these distinguished industry leaders as Adjunct Professors in our Performing Arts programme,” said Raziman bin Sarbini, Programme Director of the Bachelor of Performing Arts (Honours) at Taylor’s University. “Their insights and mentorship will greatly enrich our students’ learning experience, offering them authentic industry perspectives and inspiring them to push creative boundaries within their chosen tracks.”
