Family businesses carry more than commercial responsibility. They carry the weight of relationships, reputation, continuity and the hopes of the next generation. As Ms Shan Loy, Manager of Strategic Partnership and Networking for Taylor's Centre of Family Business (TCFB) puts it: Families move families. The decisions made by one generation shape the opportunities, values and direction of the next.

That perspective was brought to the 2026 Asia Economic and Entrepreneurship Summit, where Ms Shan Loy represented Taylor’s Centre for Family Business on the panel, 'Building Asia’s Resilient and Responsible Enterprises.'

A Voice That Belongs in the Room

Alongside business leaders, Ms Shan Loy brought the realities of family enterprise into a wider conversation on resilience, responsible governance and long-term sustainability. Because for family businesses, these are not abstract business concepts. They shape how families protect what they have built, navigate change and decide what they want to leave behind.

Her participation reflects what TCFB continues to stand for: ensuring the voices, realities and aspirations of business families have a place in the conversations shaping the future of enterprise in Asia.

And sometimes, progress begins by creating the space for different voices to shape what comes next.
