This programme prepares students with the required skills of researching, writing, strategising and effective executing of communication plans. Students will learn to plan, manage and implement a broad range of communication tasks for various sectors, with competencies, among others, in advertising, broadcasting, journalism and public relations related work.

Students will also receive equal recognition and certification from both Taylor’s University and the University of the West of England (UWE), UK and the option to transfer to UWE in the final year.

PREREQUISITES

SPM / O Level with Pre-U / Foundation

SPM / O Level or equivalent, 5 credits including English for entry with pre-university / foundation qualification.

SPM / O Level with Diploma

Pass SPM / O Level or equivalent, 3 credits including English for entry with Diploma qualification.

*Candidates without a credit in English at SPM level or its equivalent may be admitted if the STPM / Foundation / Diploma / Matriculation programme contains subjects in English that are equivalent or higher to English at SPM level.

The Dual Award with UWE applies directly to all combinations of communications modules and communications Minors. For Minors from other fields, only the “Recommended Minors” listed in the ‘Complementary Study Guide’ will be eligible for the Dual Award. Other Minors may still be given the Dual Award but have to be considered on a case by case basis. This would be clarified in consultation with the School of Communication.
