You're eligible to apply for a module overload during the long semester if you meet either of the following, subject to approval by the Head of School:

Scenario 1

 

 You have a minimum CGPA/WCGPA of 2.67 and fall into one of these situations:

  • You've experienced serious and unavoidable circumstances (e.g. illness, accident, or hospitalisation).
  • You need to take extra credits to graduate on time.
  • You're approaching the maximum study duration for your programme.
  • You must complete all compulsory modules before starting your internship or work-based learning.

Scenario 2

 

You have a CGPA/WCGPA of 3.80 or above at the time of application — no additional circumstances required.

Unsure when can you apply? It's best to submit your overload study application by the end of Week 1 (of the long semester). This gives enough time for review and approval before classes are in full swing.
