POSTGRADUATE BY COURSEWORK

Taylor's Postgraduate Coursework Programme allows our students to deepen knowledge within a discipline, or to pursue a new or additional study area at an advanced level.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

MASTER OF ARCHITECTURE

Pre-Requisite:

  • Students must pass SPM/O Level with 5 credits, inclusive English and Mathematics. Pass Interview which includes review of Design Portfolio and Personal Statement.

Entry Requirement:

  • Bachelor of Science or Arts in Architectural Studies with a minimum CGPA 2.67;

  • Any other qualifications recognised by the Board of Architects Malaysia and Malaysian Ministry of Higher Education;

  • Students must obtain LAM Part I exemption/recognition prior to joining the programme.

  • Minimum six (6) months practical experience after graduating from the first stage of architectural education at a registered architect office, approved architectural related organization or practice within the building industry.*

  • For international students: IELTS 5.0 / TOEFL 500 (May join IEN preparatory course and achieve the IELTS score)

As evidence, students are to provide a reference letter from the company that clearly indicates the duration of work experience, supported by a company profile, and portfolio of their practical experience.

TAYLOR’S MBA (MASTER OF BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION)

Entry Requirement

  • Bachelor's degree with CGPA above 2.75; OR
  • Bachelor's degree with CGPA between 2.75 and 2.50 with 2 years working experience and an interview; OR
  • All Bachelor's degree with CGPA less than 2.5 and minimum 5 years working experience;
  • Accreditation of Prior Experiential Learning (APEL) in accordance to Malaysian Qualification Agency requirement and 2 years managerial/supervisory experience
  • Other academic qualification that are equivalent to the above and recognized by the Malaysian Qualification Agency (MQA)and the Malaysian Ministry of Education.

  • For international students: IELTS 6.0 (May join IEN preparatory course and achieve the IELTS score)
MASTER IN MANAGEMENT

Entry Requirement:

  • All Bachelor's degree with a CGPA ≥ 2.50, recognised by the Malaysian or National Government

  • All Bachelor's degree with a 2.00≤ CGPA < 2.50, recognized by the Malaysian Government or National Government, AND a minimum 5 years related work experience OR

  • *Accreditation of Prior Experiential Learning (APEL) as approved by MoHE OR

  • Postgraduate Diploma Level 7 in same field recognised by Malaysian Government, with credit transfer OR

  • Any other equivalent qualification recognised by the Malaysian Government

  • For international students: IELTS 6.0 (May join IEN preparatory course and achieve the IELTS score)
MASTER OF PHILOSOPHY (FOOD STUDIES)

Entry Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree with a minimum CGPA of 2.75 as accepted by the Senate; OR

  • A bachelor’s degree not meeting CGPA of 2.75 but above CGPA of 2.50, can be accepted subject to rigorous internal assessment; OR

  • Other qualifications equivalent to a bachelor’s degree with minimum CGPA of 2.75 that are accepted by the Senate; OR

  • A bachelor’s degree not meeting CGPA of 2.50 can be accepted subjected to a minimum of five years working experience in relevant field.

  • For international students: IELTS 6.0 / TOEFL 550 (May join IEN preparatory course and achieve the IELTS score) The validity of the IELTS or equivalent is within 2 years from the date of the examination.
MASTER IN COMMUNICATION

Entry Requirements

  • A recognized bachelor’s degree with minimum CGPA score of 2.50 or equivalent; OR

  • All bachelor's degree with a 2.00 CGPA < 2.50, recognized by the Malaysian or Natioanl Government, AND a minimum of 5 years related work experience.

  • For International students: IELTS 6.0 / TOEFL 600 (May join IEN preparatory course and achieve the IELTS score)
MASTER OF APPLIED COMPUTING

Entry Requirements

  • A Bachelor's Degree (Level 6 MQF) or its equivalent, with a minimum CGPA of 2.75; OR

  • A Bachelor's Degree (Level 6 MQF) or its equivalent, with CGPA of 2.50 and not meeting CGPA of 2.75, can be accepted subject to rigorous internal assessment process; OR

  • Bachelor's Degree (Level 6 MQF) or its equivalent, with CGPA less than 2.50, with a minimum of 5 years working experience in a relevant field may be accepted subject to rigorous internal assessment process

  • Students who don't have any experience in Computing will have to follow a 2 weeks of intensive training before the beginning of the first semester that will cover the Fundamentals of Computing.

  • For international students: IELTS 6.0 / TOEFL 600 (May join IEN preparatory course and achieve the IELTS score)
MASTER IN TEACHING AND LEARNING

Entry Requirement

  • All Bachelor's degree with a CGPA > 2.50, recognised by the Malaysian or National Government. Choice of specialisations must be approved by the School OR 

  • All Bachelor's degree not meeting CGPA of 2.50, recognised by the Malaysian or National Government, can be accepted subject to a minimum of 5 years working experience in related field OR
     
  • Any other equivalent qualification recognised by the Malaysian Government

  • For international students: IELTS 5.0 / TOEFL 500 (May join IEN preparatory course and achieve the IELTS score)
POSTGRADUATE CERTIFICATE IN HIGHER EDUCATION TEACHING & LEARNING

Entry Requirements

  • All Bachelor's degree with a CGPA ≥ 2.50, recognised by the Malaysian or National Government. Choice of specialisations must be approved by the School OR

  • All Bachelor's degree with a 2.00 ≤ CGPA < 2.50, recognised by the Malaysian or National Government, AND a minimum of 5 years related working experience OR

  • Any other equivalent qualification recognised by the Malaysian Government

  • For international students: IELTS 5.0 / TOEFL 500 (May join IEN preparatory course and achieve the IELTS score)
MASTER IN INTERNATIONAL HOSPITALITY MANAGEMENT

Entry Requirement

  • All Bachelor's degree with a CGPA ≥ 2.50, recognised by the Malaysian Government OR

  • All Bachelor's degree with a 2.00 ≤ CGPA < 2.50, recognized by the Malaysian or National Government, AND a minimum of 5 years related working experience OR

  • Postgraduate Diploma Level 7 in same field recognised by Malaysian Government, with credit transfer OR

  • Any other equivalent qualification recognised by the Malaysian Government OR

  • For international students: IELTS 6.0 / TOEFL 550 (May join IEN preparatory course and achieve the IELTS score)
MASTER OF LAWS

Healthcare & Medical Law, International Business & Trade Law

Entry Requirements

  • Tier 1(a)-LLB or Bachelor of Syariah with CGPA 2.75 (out of 4.00) or other equivalent qualification which is approved by TU’s Senate OR

  • Tier 1(b) - LLB or Bachelor of Syariah with CGPA < 2.75 and > 2.50 (out of 4.00) or other equivalent qualification which is approved by TU’s Senate and subject to an interview OR

  • Tier 1(c)-LLB or Bachelor of Syariah with CGPA of ≥ 2.00 and ≤ 2.50 (out of 4.00) or other equivalent qualification which is approved by TU’s Senate with five (5) years of working experience OR

  • Tier 2(a)-Bachelor's degree with CGPA 2.75 (out of 4.00) and working experience in related field and obtain a Pass in Bridging module for candidates without law background OR

  • Tier 2(b)-Bachelor's degree with CGPA < 2.75 and > 2.50 (out of 4.00) and working experience in related field, subject to an interview and obtain a Pass in Bridging course for candidates without law background OR

  • Tier 2(c)-Bachelor's degree with ≥ 2.00 and ≤ 2.50 (out of 4.00) with five (5) years of working experience in a related field, subject to an interview and obtain a Pass in Bridging course for candidates without law background OR

  • Tier 4-Any other equivalent qualification recognised by Malaysian Government.

  • For international students: IELTS 6.0 or TOEFL 600 (May join IEN preparatory course and achieve the IELTS score)

ENGLISH LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS (FOR ALL POSTGRADUATE PROGRAMMES)

Students must include supporting evidence of English proficiency if the first language is not English, or if the undergraduate degree was not taught entirely in the English language. The supporting evidence can be fulfilled in one of the following forms:

  • Employer testimonial / Letters of recommendation either from the current/former employer and/or from a faculty member who is able to evaluate the applicant's potential for success in the programme

  • Candidates who completed their degree in a language other than English may be required to submit evidence of English competency

PAYMENT

Payment of non-refundable Enrolment Fee of RM800 is required (payable by cheque, cash or credit card) upon issuance of offer letter.

FOR INTERNATIONAL APPLICANTS

  • Three (3) copies of academic certificates and transcripts (CERTIFIED TRUE COPY)

  • Three (3) copies of original passport including BLANK pages (CERTIFIED TRUE COPIES) and ensure passport has a minimum of fifteen (15) months validity

  • Six (6) passport-sized photographs with white background (3.5 cm (W) x 4.5 cm (H))

  • Curriculum vitae / resume

  • Candidates who completed their degree in a language other than English may be required to submit evidence of English competency

  • Employer testimonial / Letters of recommendation either from the current/former employer and/or from a faculty member who is able to evaluate the applicant's potential for success in the programme (if applicable)

PAYMENT

Payment of non-refundable International Enrolment Fee of RM2800 is required (payable by telegraphic transfer or bank draft) upon issuance of offer letter.

VISA APPLICATION

Malaysian Immigration Department requires 6 - 8 working weeks to process student visa application. Taylor's International Office will assist international applicants in submitting the necessary application for student visa, upon approval of their application for admission into the Master's programme and issuance of Letter of Acceptance.
